I just reinstalled BF2 after just over a year and patched up to 1.41

When I try to log in it just hangs at the Connecting to Server screen and I can't get into the game.

Any ideas?

Are the ports forwarded for the game? BF2 allowed access to the internet? Can you use an offline acc?

You didn't hit the infamous Play Now option, did you? I did it once and it hung for about 10 minutes before joining a game.

I also don't even have the option to play offline

Well...it took between 3-4 hours to get in.  I left the computer on and went out with the kids.  When I came back I was connected.
