So this is like the 500th e-mail I recieved from Nigeria telling me my relative died and I'll inherit 2 million dollars if I send them all of my personal information. Geesh, they are persistent little bastards!
So for a little fun I decided to make them my pen pals.
Below is their letter to me and below that is my reply.
DEAR MR. MILLER
I am JUSTICE MORRISON, a solicitor at law. I am the Personal Attorney
to (Ms) MATILDA MILLER a National of your Country, who lived and worked for shell petroleum Nigeria for the past Twenty, and whom here shall be referred to as my client.
On the 1st December 2003, my client, was involved in a car accident
along Benin express road on her way to work .All occupants of the
vehicle unfortunately lost their life's including my client.
I am contacting you to help me in receiving a total of(usd$2.000.0000.00)
two million United States dollars being the benefits of my client's life insurance scheme, which she operated till death.
The insurance firm has issued me a notice to provide the beneficiary of
my client or have the benefits withdrawn. It is upon this that I seek
your consent to present you as the beneficiary to my late client since
you bear the same name, so that the benefits can be paid in your
favour as my clients beneficiary since my client was an orphan who grew up in the orphanage and has no relative.
It was my clients last wish to make sure that half of her life insurance benefits should go for charity while the remaining half should go for the building of an orphanage therefore i agree to share the benefits with you equally should you agree to assist me by giving you the half meant for charity while i use the other half to set up the orphanage as she requested.
Failure to provide a beneficiary to claim her benefits at the stipulated time given by the insurance firm will lead to an immediate revoke of the benefits by the insurance firm as it is a laid down law that where by the beneficiary of a late client fails to turn up to claims the said benefits, the benefits become unserviceable and is returned to the government of that country as an unclaimed fund.And I do not want this to happen.
All legal documents needed to back up this claim will be provided and I
guarantee that this will be executed under a legitimate arrangement
that will protect you from any breach of the law. All I require is your
honest co-operation and most of all trust.
