That rare breed, the Solo Big Wall climber.

These two videos show the nuts and bolts of a solo ascent of one of the biggest cliffs in the world. In 1996 when I was on it I had a buddy. I cannot imagine being up there alone at night.

I only tried it a couple of times, but stopped after I did a two finger free fist jam, fell backwards and ripped most of the skin off from the side of my right hand! Gawd-dang that hurt like hell, almost my whole hand one big scab.

Great videos! Haven't been climbing in a long, long time. Think I might sell my harness.
