You are correct BlackKoala.
Well those 'wonderful' acceleration figures and its far better power to weight ratio didn't help it much around the Nurburgring. So why....BlackKoala wrote:

Ohhh SHI!!!! corners.
Note: That's the ZR1 not the Z06. and yet it's still slower then the standard GTR.the Corvette ZR1 was turning in lap times in the low 7:40s, a pace that puts it right up there with the world's fastest supercars. And given the damp conditions and rough, hand-timed numbers, you can expect to see even quicker official lap times when Chevrolet goes public with its Nürburgring data.
And in the Dry.The Fastest Lap
The record lap would be set by Nissan's top shoe, Suzuki-san, who ultimately turned in a lap in 7 minutes, 38 seconds on a partially wet circuit. Those ominous clouds looming in the sky earlier in the day left their mark on two areas of the track, Kesselchen and Wehrsiefen, and required Suzuki-san to rein his speed in a bit.

Since you're posting Ring times, you must know the Z06 can beat Lambos, Ferraris, and Porches around the Ring. So why question its ability to corner? Of course a car with freaking all-wheel drive and paddle shifting will handle better in the bends. Give the Vette both of those and it would have better times. But you know what? No one wants the Vette to have those 2 things. If you have to ask why, you just don't get it at all. I can give the GT-R credit where credit is due, how but some for the Vette, eh?DrunkFace wrote:

For starters, that's not a Nissan Skyline. If you want a Nissan Skyline, look at the Infiniti G35. If you want a Skyline 350GT, look at a G-Coupe.
That's a GTR. It's its own car now. But I'll take the GT-R. Turns more heads and AWD and all sorts of cockpit toys ... yea, I prefer that car. They're both just as fast, so comparing numbers is essentially pointless.

As a corvette fan you should know that gm/chevy has never made a 10sec production car hell I even know and I dislike corvettes.Stingray24 wrote:

From the firstl ink on the GTR: Employing our customary one-foot rollout and SAE weather correction (it slows the car down by 1.1 percent today), we get:The#1Spot wrote:

So they adjusted the times for the weather, AND gave the car a foot of roll out? Take that out and I'd be damn positive the numbers match, or at least close to it. And regardless, I doubt you'd even notice the difference in a tenth of a second of 0-60 times, you'd be pissing your pants as you accelerated that fast.
Ok, so the Vette has nice pretty acc values and so on. On a rolling road i presume, or a speedway track.
No offense, but that isn't real life - You won't get that out of your Vette on your B-road (or whatever the US equivalent is) blasting.
The figures hardly matter however, they're so close too each other it shouldn't be a deciding factor.
I'd happily put money down when i say the GTR will outlast a Vette - And i'd rather see myself in a GTR.
however being an NFSU aficionado i'd take the R34

Hmm, well, I'd love to support my country, but Japanese-brand vehicles are still way, WAY more reliable than any American brand. And RWD or AWD? Like that's a hard choice. Skyline (aka GT-R) please!
