It is subjective, I've known people in the audio industry and they just laugh at the guff printed about hi-fi.

FYI I was a hotel valet for a couple years, drove a few porsches, an old school MG and more BNWs, Mercs, Audis etc. etc. etc. than I can remember
lol saying "it's all subjective" when talking about audio hardware is a retarded statement. that's like saying "it's all subjective!" when you argue over whether a wall is painted red or blue. how can it be subjective when the hardware itself produces a drastically different (and higher quality) audio signatuire? perhaps your own hearing is too damaged or shitty to discern much difference, but that doesn't make the entire market therefore a skewed, scam of subjectivity. that's a fault at the user-end, not the product. if you want immaculate and clean sound, then you have to fork out for a certain level of quality and build - that's just how it is. just because driving a ferrari doesn't particularly thrill you yourself any more than driving a ford focus would, doesn't make the entire line of ferrari cars a load of hot guff. ridiculous.

I've been listening to cheap gaming headphones hooked up to the audio out on my keyboard that's connected via USB to the motherboard's onboard sound.
Compare that to a relatively expensive sound card, good cans and flac audio and there is a big difference.

When a signal analyser tells you two pieces of equipment are producing exactly the same sound quality level, with their own slight wrinkles thrown in, its subjective.
Speakers and headphones are the subjective part of a sound setup, arguing about which is 'better' above a certain quality level is just futile.
Its always good to hear audiophiles say their hearing is 'better' and mere mortals don't have the capability to appreciate the awesomeness of their sound system.
