New Sennys HD5xx series will be out soon
I finally got my hands on the new LCD panel I ordered for my laptop, a month ago!
I went from broken, dark (the picture does not justify it, I couldn't take a picture at the same level of exposure, as the new panel just ended up clipping white!), 1440x900, 100DPI, barely-even-usable garbage to glorious, bright, 1680x1050, 117DPI goodness! It's like a new laptop, literally. I mean, you can actually see what's happening! Even from the bloody sides!
Before:
After:
I'm in heaven. 170€ well spent.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
Right hand taskbar.

Right is superior for laptops, since I use my right hand on the touchpad. It's just more comfortable.Finray wrote:

I would have thought it would be easier to push away on the trackpad, rather than towards the inner of your hand.
Meh, I prefer regular

I guess it's a matter of taste. I have it to the left on all my stationary computers.Finray wrote:

Your monitor is much wider than it is tall. It makes no sense to have a static space-eater at the bottom of it.FloppY_ wrote:

Bose Companion 3
It's only money, $199 on sale. Sounds great and the bass kicks ass.
Thanks
Of course it does. The taskbar is designed and aligned for horizontal use, and different people use the taskbar in different ways. It's all a matter of preference.Freezer7Pro wrote:

Just ordered:

Noctua NH-U12P SE2 CPU Cooler
Windows 7 64bit

Well for one it means I can have see more ungrouped minimised windows which I find a lot more convenient. There's enough empty space on my desktop I think I can spare some.Freezer7Pro wrote:

What? You can fit far more icons in the taskbar vertically than horizontally, since they too are much wider than they're tall.Aries_37 wrote:

Well on 7 with small icons they are almost squares. Can fit insane amounts of them horizontally and vertically.
3930K | H100i | RIVF | 16GB DDR3 | GTX 480 | AX750 | 800D | 512GB SSD | 3TB HDD | Xonar DX | W8
Too bad the taskbar doesn't allow smaller width than big icons in vertical mode.. smaller Icons just leave a huge gap on each sideGC_PaNzerFIN wrote:

Even on W7, I stick to the old-style taskbar.
I like how it's more grouped, though.
