Those drivers look replaced.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

We still have one, used to be an epic camera when it came now. Now it seems like a dinosaur

So much so I don't care if my 4 year old carries around the house and takes pics with it. Still takes good pics.

there is nothing wrong with a Canon 300D. 6.3 mp (good for at least 14"x20" prints) and fully programmable? yes, we paid almost a grand, and gave it to my father in law to use. it brought back Puerto Rico and Hawaii home to us, and got me on my latest obsession hobby . . .

shit... when I got mine, with a 75-300 lens, it cost $2500 CAD, but then again, the shitty HP I got to go with it cost almost the same. Fuck you get raped when you don't know anything about computers.

is the lens 75-300 IS? i paid $500 for that lense, and still use it today.
Glass is more important than the body. it's true that cameras don't take pictures, people do, but a good lense is worth more than a good camera.

I want a fisheye and a macro lens, fisheye for me, my wife likes to take macro pics, so that would be mostly her.

nice - i paid a premium for 'Image Stabilization'. the 55-250 get good reviews. Wallpaper would be better able to tell you of macro lenses, but for a wide angle i picked up a Sigma 10-20. to me, the fish-eye is a specialty lense that if given the choice, a selective focus lense would work better.

having said all that, i'd have killed to have a fish-eye back when i was skateboarding in empty swimming pools . . .

yeah I was looking at that sigma awhile back, still would really love it. A photo buddy loaned me a cheap Zenitar fish eye for snowboard photography years back, and I wouldnt mind picking one up.

this one: You can get them cheap.

the specs look good - i doubt you'd use 'wide apertures' with that lense hooked up anyways.

snowboarding is = skateboarding for photography, except one major thing - you have to get the white balance and metering correct. same timings, nearly same action.

how close are you Nic to Vancouver?
-Whiteroom-

about 45 minutes north of there.

Yeah snowboarding and skate photography are pretty similar, I find skate shots easier, but given that I am addicted to snowboarding, it was a natural path to go. Only got the camera because a friend and I were starting a Skate/Snow/Art/Music/Misc zine and was gonna snap generic pics for interviews, but really liked shooting so kept on with it.

i may be in Vancouver BC at the beginning of September - if we could find a time and place, you're welcome to run a few shots through my Sigma (and any other lense) to see if you like it.

i'll give you a heads up when i know what i'm doing where and when . . .

Do that, maybe I will have managed to pick up some new camera gear by then myself. First comes selling the comp for a laptop and paintball gun though.

I want a X7 phenom, but I may have to settle for an A5. I already have a Hammerhead Widowmaker with M50 muzzle for my barrel, was expecting to have my computer sold already.
