No just technology is more developed than in your country. You probably still use IE5.
Yes, clearly technology is more developed in Slovakia or Slovenia or whatever than in England/Ireland.

how does he fail at reading?

"No just technology is more developed than in your country. You probably still use IE5."

clearly means that the country you are reffering to (Slovenia, I assume) is more developed than FatherTed's country (England/Ireland).

It was a play on ignorance, because most people haven't heard of Slovenia.

You fail at general knowledge and common sense if you think Slovenia is more advanced than the UK.

Dunno why, to know more? More knowledge is always better. Its also easier to decide where you are going to spend your next holiday. A friend of mine from UK told me hes mother visits Bled (a small city near a beautiful lake) every year and she loves it.

No I'm not asking why you would learn about all the countries. I'm asking if you learn about every country at school.

Yes we did back in grammar school. But we only mentioned smaller counties and dedicated more learning hours for bigger countries.

Mmmm.

Well learning about every country isn't on the curriculum here. Maybe they do at grammar schools here, I wouldn't know.
