Try harvesting big game (Deer, elk, moose etc) at 200 yards with a stick or rock. I don't kill animals just for the fuck of it. The meat that animal provides fills my freezer and provides sustenance for myself, same concept as fishing.

Yes a bow works too, but Archery hunting is more difficult these days due to several factors.

So yes there is a point to a gun for me, maybe not for you.

Correct on both counts krazed.

Gun laws are pretty strict down here (Aust.) but if you follow the rules, you can get a licence and firearm within a month. (As I did this year)

I don't own a gun, and probably never will. If I did it would be a sniper rifle that I would hunt foxes with.

Needs to be done as part of a club, you can't just paintball in your back garden (I think), nor can you buy a paintball gun without a license.

I'm 100% sure he's serious...he's even posted pictures.

As for myself, I plan to get one for myself as soon as the state that I'm living in at that time says it's legal for me to do so.

We have 4 guns. I say we, as in my dad and myself live next door to each other. Usually only allowed two in Northern Ireland due to our habit of turning them on each other. We are kinda the local pest controller so have a special licence. When say a 2 ton Bull snaps upstairs and decides to run through fences and peoples back gardens, we get called. Or say packs of dogs worrying sheep.
We have a Beretta semi auto shoot gun, an over-under shoot gun for clays and birds. A .22 for shooting hare, dogs, magpies etc and a .308 Ruger with silencer & night scope for foxes, cows and deer. Every gun has a purpose. We are only allowed to shoot on approved lands and we have to walk them once a year with a special fire arms cop to identify back drops and risk shots. Its very tightly controlled here. If you can't prove you have a genuine need for a gun, you don't get one.

private gun ownership is strictly regulated in germany. The general rule is, you are only allowed to own a gun if you need it for your profession ( i.e. hunters, security guards, private investigators, and the like ), or as part of a sport ( shooting clubs, for example ).

I don't own a gun because I don't qualify in either of those.

I own one of these for personal protection though: https://www.luftgewehre.org/shop/assets/big/P99300.jpg

made by Walther, and looks just like the original P99, but it fires only CS gas rounds.

I even got a permit so I can carry it around, but I have never had to use it. And I hope I never will have to, honestly.
Would I want a gun if I had the opportunity ? Nah, don't think so. I am 32 now, and I have never been in a situation that required the use of a gun. Germany is a peaceful country, overall.

Nope, even here minors aren't allowed to own guns .

Probably won't be getting any, I want to collect awsm guns, not some ghey .22 rifle.

Doubt I can get a license either due to my "criminal" record, apperantly "smuggling" airsoft weapons into the country is illegal.

Yes, but just because you get a licence, doesn't mean you can then do whatever you want.

WTF?? How from anything I have written did you get an idea like that? FFS talk about putting words into someone's mouth.

Ouch.  That sucks.  Glad I don't live in Australia!  I get to enjoy airsofting and target shooting.  I'm a club member for both sports, but that is out of convenience, not legal necessity.
