Suppose thats all you can do. I gues you don't really have more than 2 weeks worth of progress on any of them though.

Petition it. Tell them you resubbed the wrong account and i'm sure they'll be happy to fix the mistake, though it may take a day or two.

nevermind, i'll just start again. i suppose it was only a few weeks of skill training- nothing worth keeping. i notice they've made lots of tiny and simple improvements to the UI that make it that tiny bit more intuitive. still wouldn't say the game is a nice thing to get around, though, or particularly play. going through the same old career agent tuts for the 12th time to get the free ships and skillbooks. i'll give this a month of casual play whilst i do essays and sort graduation shit. have joined the eve uni chat channel for noob questions. what's the bf2s chat-channel?

yep the UI is the main thing holding eve back i think. theres a lot of public support behind opening it up for user-created stuff, like wow does i think?

Hopefully, it's not that bad though. It's manageable.

WoW's UI customisation is really nice, despite what you think of the actual content and changes made by the mods and user-made stuff.

EVE's UI is a real mess. it feels like i'm working on an office computer or something, windows of text flying about everywhere and hardly any 'fun' intuition. it's what makes the combat so boring, too. it feels more like you're solving a math equation than engaging in combat... computing the best range/orbit/speed, clicking your weapons once and letting them cycle... it's just not very engaging. i'm trying to get my narrowmind around this aspect of the gameplay, for now, because there is so much in EVE that i have liked (i.e. the hardcore, no-apologies mechanics). it's just a shame that the pew-pew-lasers spaceship combat is about as entertaining (for new players, at least) as a fancy screensaver.

not being able to change your portrait is a joke, too. i thought the 4 options in character creation were all swappable. had to delete the character (which takes TEN FUCKING HOURS!) to recreate it again with a decent portrait. jesus. in WoW that entire process is approximately 10000x easier in every single conceivable way... and you have a COMPLETE 3D AVATAR in that game. what's the big deal about changing a 250x250 pixel image? they want £10 for it? jesus fucking christ!

This is a good example why the portrait creation is a good concept.

However I do agree, it does have a lot of flaws. WoWs character creation may have been somewhat primitive but it worked very well.

it's not just that... it's the fact in WoW you can go and get a haircut and change your character's appearance pretty much instantly, for no cost at all (12g is what? kill 10 mobs?). in EVE it's like even to change a 2d portrait you have to cough up £10. jeeeeesus. it's not even as if they're dealing with millions of accounts and a huge hassle, either. it's a 250x250 image.

I haven't even bothered to create a new portrait, my laptop shits itself whenever I try. WoW has it's share of greed to, 30 bucks to move from horde to ally, the server transfers and sex change crap. At least in EVE it's all one server cluster.

If you log into the singularity server they have installed a free character customization thing. At fanfest they're saying to think of it as a salon type of service to take advantage of incarna so you can freely change yourself in stations that provide that service then walk out and see how you like your new digs. Only thing I haven't heard yet is how drastic they'll allow the changes to be such as sex changes etc., but the big flaw I see in that is the fact it will be a a lot harder to catch criminals since their portrait will never be the same to post on concord bulletin boards.

as the char creator is still being iterated upon (new hairtypes, tatoos and so on) and the public reception to microtransactions was incredibly hostile it's pretty certain char changes will be a) free and b)whenever or very frequent.

Later on in the game uziqu combat becomes more than clicking your turrets once and waiting for the target to splode. You have many more modules and you have to manage them effectively to conserve cap, not splode yourself and splode the enemy. It becomes a little less boring and a little more action.

again, the npe gives no fucks about making people pvp. the high-end stuff (lowsec/nullsec/wherever) is a LOT more involving.

i can come out of a fleet fight (say 800v800) and it will last HOURS and its all tactics and still come out with the shakes. or i can do some frig v frig pvp that takes 30seconds and still get the shakes

i know this is sort-of how trials shouldn't work, but don't review+write eve off from the trial. CCP as a bunch of devs are literally retarded, but the human aspect of this game is unparalleled.

not if you just stick to missions. you literally can activate modules/drones once, go and have lunch, and come back an hour later with the mission done, and five million in the pocket.
