in years of messing around with EVE (all attempts being failures) i have taken away one instructive lesson:
eve is more to hear about/read about then it is to actually play. the gameplay and interface are sooo fucking dull. the drama is great, but being an actor in them is a real snorefest.

yeah the UI is really really bad because basically CCP (the duders that make it) are fucking terrible. concept A++++ delivery heavily relys on who you play with.
although gameplay i disagree with you on, but again the real shit is (for me at least) in the big nullsec stuff (1000 v 1000) etc. that shit gets you going, yet the new player experience (NPE) tutorials and so on make literally no attempt to push people to pvp or get interacting with other players.
