I've accidentaly "done" concentrated (5.0mol) of Ammonia. It jerks you around in spasms and feels like someone has stuck their fingers up your nose and ripped outwards. It's similar to ether, but not as powerful.
My Dad once told me he had a substitute teacher for his chemistry class one day and they were doing experiments using ether as a preservative. The teacher asked what they were doing, picked up the ether and said "what is this" just as he was sniffing it. He fell unconcious and spent the rest of the lesson on the floor while the kids ran riot in the classroom and drew on him!
