I used to pad back in the day just because I wanted to get all the unlocks. I really like squeezing all the features out of the games I purchase. Rank doesn't matter to me.
I eventually hit 50K and was reset a few days later. I've since learned my lesson, although if it was "decriminalized" I would certainly do it again.

Well I would imagine it to be final around that time. EA doesn't have a history of supporting games with patches after the next game in the series is released. If I recall correctly, the only thing that EA released for BF1942 after BFV was out was patch 1.61, which only fixed a minor clipping exploit.
Why is that?
Okay, maybe I'm making a broad assumption that EA is going to want to do what I suggested, but it seems a bit odd to me that people who pick up BF2 after BF2142 is out will have to play for hundreds of hours to get all the weapons. We don't really know how long ranked servers/the BF2 community as a whole will last. Whenever I purchase a game, I try to get every feature out of it, and imagining a newcomer playing for such a long time strikes me as odd for a game that will soon be late in its lifecycle.

With BF2142 around the corner, and the final BF2 patch surely coming around the same time, do you suppose EA will change a few things around to "wrap up" BF2? Like shortening the gap between the 20K and 50K ranks?
Perhaps this has a few inherent flaws I have yet to foresee, but I was thinking it may be a wise idea if EA were to change things so that one's points at the end of a round gets multiplied by one's K-D ratio. This would reward skilled players more than "chronopadders," and would make points accumulate quicker, without changing the rank structure itself. (Less work involved, I'm sure EA would love that one )
What do you folks think?

Yes, that's exactly what I'm trying to ask here! I'd like to know how to run servers the way that some unranked servers do, where every player has the little button on the 7 classes to alternate between all the unlocks. If there's any way to extend this knowledge to Co-op, please share that too! ;D
Anyone?
I've just started tooling with the dedicated server .exe, and found the UseGlobalUnlocks line, which gives you weapons you've earned...cool stuff, but...
How do I make it so that every player can use ALL the unlocks, like some unranked servers do online? Thanks in advance!
