i think generally all sniperrifle in bf2 should have a better zoom like in real life but i also think that the m24 should have a silencer as many uses in real life I think it could be a little nice detail and maybe the kit could be more attractive.

I think the Sniper Rifles are perfect the way they are... Although a silencer option would be good, wouldn't that disurupt the velocity of the bullet reducing its accuracy?

Not only would a silencer on an M24 be detrimental to range and accuracy but it would be quite pointless. It doesn't matter how well you silence the actual shot because the bullet itself is creating a sonic boom. That's why when you hear a sniper rifle being fired in real life you hear two distinct sounds, not just one.

silencers work with sub sonic amo, might as well throw your pistol at ehm...

i think its neat but anyone who played the old delta force games knows its pointless the .50 cal is all anyone ever used.

Supressor are mostly used in covert operation where silence is completely needed, hardly ever any situations like that in BF2.  If your sniping well in Bf2, your shouldn't need a silencer. 1 shot is all the enemy will hear, if even that. (you usually dont hear the kill shot)

Silencing or suppressing a weapon means to slow it below the speed of sound, hencle lessening the velocity of the projectile it fires.  The lower the velocity, the higher the tendency for the round to deviate from point of aim, and the lower stopping power of the round.  Meaning the accuracy and damage suck for silenced weapons compared to regular rounds.

Silencing a weapon that still fires a round over the speed of sound will lessen the report of the weapon, but the supersonic crack still make the gunshot very loud.  The round must be below the speed of sound to make it worth silencing.

Sniper rifles are HARDLY silenced.  Even with suppressors, standard ammo will not fall below the speed of sound, making it useless.  Special subsonic ammunition is required, when used the gunshot wll then be effectively suppressed, but at what cost?  A suppressed .308 that usually is good for 800-1000 meters is good for about 200m effective range with subsonic ammo.  You do not suppress .50 cal period.  Supressing does not increase recoil, but can actually reduce it because the subsonic ammuntion produces less "kick" since it has to fire slower.  Certain weapons such as the MP5SD with integral silencer do not need special subsonic ammuntion to be fully silenced, the silenced does its job perfectly.

silencers really wouldn't add too much. might be nice for novelty's sake.

a much more useful feature would be to let us change the scope magnification.

flash suppresser sure, but a silancer does not work well on sniper rifles.  But they do need a longer zoom.  Thier current zoom is a joke for a scope.  You should be able to hit at that range unscoped as a sniper.

silencers would be neat but not much more.
the zoom is a joke, it seems its a 2x zoom it needs to be more like 10x.

That's all well and good for the real world, but the ranges in BF2 are so screwed up that a suppressor shouldn't make a lick of difference in accuracy.
