BF2S Forums Story of a Ranger in Iraq. I Have a New Found Hate for America's Gov.

Things Ive learned from this so far.
1) The kid in the video lies. no well seasoned soldier talks like that unless PST has set in. Even then sometimes its hard to tell. Besides all this video is is propaganda for the anti-war campaign and terrorists alike.
2) If he does have PST well then he must have gotten it from Basic because seeing his 214 he never got past Boot. Heck the fact that he made it past MEPS with that bad of a speech impediment astounds me. (this is not a personal attack on him but just from my observations from when I went through and people were getting disqualified for speech impediments)
3) 200 kills, Sure people keep count but damn thats a hell of a lot. Even the people who are unfortunate enough to have to use force never say exact numbers. Unless its for writing up a report or an award. Or with his own personal friends who went through the shit with them. any other time they say either a few or too many. In my opinion 1 is too many.
4) Regardless of who told him to do what after shooting women and children he would have been brought up on charges and set before a military tribunal along with his superiors and those who helped him. He would have probably been sent to Leavenworth to break big rocks into smaller rocks for the rest of eternity.
5) Even if this was a true account the American Govt. didn't tell him to go out there and kill and scare the Iraqi people. If it was true it would have been a rouge unit out terrorizing in which case they would have been brought in under criminal charges.
6) Before people start bashing America for having the CIA do the dirty work take a look at your own governments I'm sure that everyone else's has a shady side.
7) We (the US) created terrorists and overpowered dictators. Sure yeah right. Thats like blaming TV and video games for kids acting the way they do. Lets just offset the blame and not hold the individuals accountable. So I guess we should Outlaw BF2 because it might give some kid the wrong Idea and they might decide to blow up a school bus and spray paint the message "n00bs got pwn3d" on the side of the wreckage.
8) the terrorism wont stop regardless of if we pull out of the middle east or not. Thats not the reason why they hate the US. They hate the US because of our freedoms, the womens rights, our freedom of religion, and what we stand for. So quit blaming it on its because we are there. Other countries are being targeted by AQ as well so don't just say its  America. We just happen to be making the biggest stand and most noise against it.
9) The fact that we just don't kill the terrorists on site but instead give them a trial shows compassion. In fact If you look at the Saddam trials how many Americans do you see....none. Thats right he is being tried by his own people, not the US. So its obvious they didn't want him in power anyways.

I didn't watch the whole thing because I had to throw up the bullshit flag after the intro.  I think the only title of Ranger this guy ever could claim had an "ASS" before it.  So until he can provide a little more information about his service record other than word of mouth,  I ain't believing any of his BS.  I think he's just some Joe smoe off the street looking for his 15 minutes of fame.

EDIT:  Okay I just identified some more shit that absolutely tells me he is a civilian acting like a soldier.  Another uniform flaw(s) I found.  His go to war patch sewn on is Special Forces and not a Ranger scroll, plus he has the SF tab sewn on the right sleeve when it should be on the left side.  Where are his Airborne wings??? Show me a soldier that has completed Airborne training and doesn't wear their wings and I'll give you a buffalo nickle!  He has no US Army or Name tape on his uniform.  His sleeves are rolled like the Marines with white out and not camo pulled over.  The rank in the picture is Private and in the video he's wearing corporal.  Another thing this bumbling stutter fuck does that gives him away as a fake is the way he talks, meaning he uses no military acronyms or terminology.  For example he says he flew in to Kuwait and was caravan ed up to Iraq, eerrrrr NO.. in the Army we call this a convoy!

What makes me even more sick than seeing the kind of stuff america's army do over there told by an american soldier is to see how americans comment this story's. You don't even believe your own common citizens story. The people does not lie, it is the carrier of the truth.

Edit: And the part where he said "HE felt like he lost part of himself" Show me ONE person who has been in the military serving in a combat zone who DOESN'T feel like they have lost something.  He's trying to equate that to his different beliefs.  I think this veteran is being exploited by groups like Veterans Against The War and just using him as publicity.  His values and beliefs are wonderful but he just ended up with the wrong squad.  He's over analyzing things and not looking at the bigger picture.

Watch the movie. He clearly states that the government "lied to him and tricked him." He is refering to the fact that he thought he was going to Iraq to change the nation for the better, not to strike fear into the hearts of Iraqis.

Btw....did you not READ what he SAID? One bloody NCO does NOT EQUATE to "United States Government". By the way, how in the name of clomp does a government lie to one single soldiere exclusively, and do it through an NCO? Explain it to me, exPLAIN it to me. And I agree with Wesker's later post, just a few after the one you initially quoted: sure things are going downhill, and you have to remember: not ONE single human is ever able to fully escape the pull and temptation of corruption that power can bring.

Change how things are done, change how the rules are being presented and enforced. But whining, bitching, and MOANING about how you feel that a war is based on a lie is rather...how can I say it..BULL. Incorrect information, or intelligence information that isn't 100% accurate, or even 50% accurate, HAPPENS. That is why it is called INTELLIGENCE, and gathered by Intelligence agents. So they can gether information....and sometimes, other armies/countries/organizations have a little thing called...COUNTER-INTELLIGENCE.  So they can...you know...MISLEAD the opposing army/country/governments' Intelligence teams. IT HAPPENS. It happened a lot in the 2nd World War...you don't see people bitching NOW about how misinformation in one of the battles during the 2nd World War resulted in thousands of deaths...do you? You don't, because it happened, and there is NOTHING you can do to make it UN-HAPPEN.

So guess what...the information wasn't 100% bang on, big freakin deal. What mattered was it seemed accurate enough, and a potential enough threat that a decision was made to start a war. A war which is still being fought. OH NO, I'M FIGHTING A WAR THAT TURNS OUT TO BE BASED ON INCORRECT INTELLIGENCE! I'M BONED! NOW I'M GONNA START WHINING AND COMPLAINING ABOUT IT. BOO-HOO, BOO-HOO.

And just so you know, I am NOT trying to make this Ranger's experience seem like he's whining and complaining, far from it. I am proud of all our servicemen at home, and out on their Tours of Duty. True I feel sympathy, and wish that this war could be fought differently, that some things wouldn't happen the way they have. And I do feel for this Ranger who happened to have a bad experience in his squad while he served overseas.

But you all have to remember this: if you are in the Armed Services...you are a SOLDIER first, a Civilian second, and only once you have completed your Tours and are discharged. Even then, you were still once a soldier. It is your duty to perform to the best of your abilities for your squad, your country, and your fellow servicemen. If you do not agree with your NCO, then you can file a proper complaint, or request a transfer to a different squad. But it does NOT mean that you have to make your experience in the war, which could've been unique to you and probably a few others into a sob-story to be exploited by anti-war groups.

Remember your duty to your Amry, your Country, your People, and your President. You serve not for yourself, but for your country and your people, to help make a difference in the world.

And again remember...this is but the humble opinion of a son of America, who is proud of his Country, and the Servicemen doing their jobs and their duty, be it overseas, or here at home.

  Rangers are highly qualified specialists. These are not regular infantry troops. You MUST be a Sgt. at least to enter Ranger training + previous service. Some exceptions are made such as Pat Tillman. These troops are highly motivated professional soldiers. They also highly emphasis good relations with the TCNs. Hearts and minds kinda stuff. I have great confidence in the Soldiers of the US military. If only we could stuff rags in the mouths of all politicians we might have a chance to win this WoT. I have quite a few friends in country ATM and they all wish nothing but the best for the Iraqis and are willing to lay down their lives so that these peoples might be free....
