Because I had too much sex and played too many video games and my grades were shit. Classic underachiever.
the cognitive dissonance here is incredible.

how are you going to limit college to 'the top 30%' jay when your definition uses mind bending quantum physics, placing people such as yourself both simultaneously outside and inside that coveted group?

(by the way no one who makes it into good colleges had sex, played computer games or led a normal social life)

yeah jay, I got one of the top three marks nationally in my year of examinations for my college subject.  (the exam board don't specify which place). that's 1st–3rd out of about 300,000 candidates in the cohort. congratulations. but I'm 'insecure' about academics and rely on fatuous 'brands'.

you can't be a patrician about education but then refute every actually academic person. this is all just part of your same deluded notion of self that you rely on – you've ingested too much ayn rand and consider yourself the pinnacle of heroic effort. no one else struggled like you did! the problem is that your thinking is horseshit and the 'top 30%' category you nod along to like a self-fancied eminence grise is as vaporous as it is vapid.

Maybe everyone should be given a token when they turn 18, they can spend it on four years at college, four years running up and down hills and shooting things, or four years doing whatever they want. $100,000 should cover it.

That would be fair, and I think it would make America great again.

For someone in possession of a reading degree, your reading skills leave something to be desired. Dilbert suggested that the top 30% have their college paid for by the public. Never was it said that the other 70% were shut out from attendance.

And if people want to pay to go to some Ivy League private place then they can do that too.

Well that's what I'm talking about too, obviously. it's the matter of public funding not attendance full stop

Yeah, if only he'd not endorsed her, all the people could still be whining how "he's not even a real Democrat" like they enjoyed so much.

You'd have to be outside your goddamn mind if you didn't expect the person who came in second in this primary to endorse the person who came in first.

I wouldn't have been surprised if he didn't endorse her. He wasn't even a democrat until this election.

Mike Pence as GOP VP

I'd give you his stances on the issues but let me sum it up: He's a hardcore tea party member

IMO the only way trump was going to pick up any voters outside the far right was to pick someone not exactly like him. He just picked the 'established politician' version of himself. Hardcore right wingers can't vote 'extra hard' for him so he stays firm in that position and it's Hill-Dogs game to lose.

I'm just glad he won't be governor of Indiana any more. Pence has had his own disasters running the state and I suspect he took the job partially because there is quite a strong movement from Democrats and Republicans alike to unseat him if he stayed and tried to run for re-election.

Caught a few minutes of Mike Pence talking about his nomination and he was going on about cutting taxes and small government. Typical GOP trickle down bullshit. How lame.

Reduce taxes, increase military spending regardless of what the Pentagon wants, and support useless programs like the US-Mexico wall. Brutally hatchet social spending to compensate even though that probably won't cover increased losses (the sick can f*ck off and we can always build more prisons for children).

Pence and Trump are a perfect fit. Maybe they can take a trip to California and finalize their relationship.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said on Sunday that he would consider pulling the United States out of the World Trade Organization should he end up winning the election.

The comments, made to NBC’s “Meet the Press,” are the latest in a series of Trump threats to pull the U.S. away from international institutions and compacts. Trump’s disgust for trade deals is well-known. And in the midst of his convention in Cleveland, he reiterated to The New York Times that he would not come to the aid of NATO allies if they hadn’t fully paid their dues to the organization.
...
Trump said that he would like to levy a tax of somewhere between 15 and 35 percent on the products of U.S. companies that move their production jobs overseas. When “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd told him that some of those hikes “aren’t going to get through” the WTO, the Republican nominee responded in kind.

“Then we’re going to renegotiate or we’re going to pull out,” he said. “These trade deals are a disaster, Chuck. You know, the World Trade Organization is a disaster.”

???

Yeah, the best way to get better trade deals will be to pull out of the trade organization we help found. Joining the ranks of non-WTO members like South Sudan, Somalia, and North Korea is the best way to go.

I can understand not liking taxes or abortion and voting for Romney or a republican but you have to be purposefully ignorant to support Trump at this time or on this point.

the last few years has seen the rise of the politics of emotionalism again in the west (which has worked so well in the past). at this point people are voting for the hope/fear candidates: policy doesn't exist. there's a widespread compulsion to vote for change for change's sake. it's amusing to me when educated middle-class liberals react to phenomena like the trump thing with facts, figures, and statistics. it's like trying to argue with the wind. this is a crowd hysteria thing.

Satan Debbie Wasserman Schultz resigned.

The one bright spot in US politics over the past year or so. Made sure to wait until Hillary got the nom though. Will no doubt get a spot in the Clinton cabinet if elected.

Bernie is a whiny bitch who bought into his own hype. He publicly called out DWS and expected the DNC to bend over backwards to accommodate his losing campaign.

Are you like the Paul Feig of BF2S or something? More power to the Democrat who wants to play hard ball against the "elect me because I'm a woman campaign."
