They're building a new runway at my airport and tearing down the old one. Recently, they closed the old runway and started taking it down, so I went up in a helicopter and snapped a few pictures.

* a 'feel' for what you like, personally
* the 'good' lighting. e.g. lighting falling over your weak shoulder, like the Sun God blessing you from one astronomical unit away
* your battery charged up. the one in you*r camera, and the one eighteen inches below the nape of your neck.
* a willing subject. Mother Nature is a camera whore - get in there and exploit that for maximum personal benefit (be first to the feeding trough - Mother Nature's tit is bountiful, but it's still first come, first served )
* you still have to believe that you, personally, can appreciate the full glory of Mother Nature.
