lol. there are shitloads of new players at the moment. it's gonna go on steam soon as well which is gonna multiply that x100.
the game really plateaus, though. it reminds me a lot of tennis in the way the difficulty and game itself changes so drastically.
at entry level it's like watching two kids rally a ball over the net casually.
by the time you watch proper matches it's like power base-line play. the whole maths and tact of the game changes.

Are you supposed to hold in movement keys while skiing? I do the same thing as airstrafing in TF2, and that seems to work most of the time, but occasionally I completely lose control of my direction and go off somewhere I don't want to without being able to turn at all.
it's about as hard to explain using text as tf2 rocket jumping is.

it's a great fucking game. the micro-transactions part doesn't really bother you when you get past level 10 or so and begin to have all of the stuff for 1/2 classes that you intend to play most. most of the expensive things are just side-grades and applicable only in specific situations, for e.g. soldiers proximity grenades (70k+ xp) really being good for arena and d-soldiering... and that's about it. really it's annoying to get killed by an expensive item but a) that player has probably just saved up for it (it doesn't take that long, honest) and b) they are very niche and situational. the stock weapons are all very good... just like in tf2. use them, learn them, love them.
tbh once you're into the decent mid-skill gameplay the cash-store is only really there for fancy skins and stuff - which ain't even in the game yet.
