New game as nord with two handed focus. So easy
I lost the first NPC that tags along within 30 minutes of getting her (can't remember her name). I used her as a meatshield against some hag and she died.
Don't really miss her.

Remember Me As A Time Of Day
Sacrificed her at the Boethiah shrine. I highly recommend it.

Can you use a charm spell to make him like you enough to complete the quest? If they attack you, can't you also yield?

Won't console commands invalidate achievements throughout your entire subsequent saves during that playthrough? I just save often.El Beardo wrote:

Depends. I got the gold hoarding achievement way way way earlier than normal, and still have it.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

So I switched from my one computer to my better computer, and now the FPS is so low it's pretty much unplayable.
How does that work..

If you're having performance issues, you might want to enable the beta patch in your Steam settings.
Basically some random guy optimized the code for the PC because unsurprisingly Bethesda did virtually nothing at all to optimize the game for the PC, even in the performance department. They took notice of this and implemented those changes and even some more officially in patch 1.4 which as of right now is only available through the opt-in Steam beta. I saw one review that even said it made the game more stable for him. This sounds like the patch that actually makes Skyrim into a very nicely optimized PC game.
Btw, they're releasing beta versions of patches on PC first from now on so everybody can test and report different bugs on different system configurations rather than Bethesda just keep releasing patches that only worked for them in-house
http://www.bethblog.com/2012/01/23/now- … or-skyrim/
Also a short story about the optimizations from the guy that found them out:

And the specifics of what was unoptimized, including multi-threading:

Might seem like a dumb question but, can patches be applied to cracked games?
My assumption would be that it wouldn't be possible to do such a thing.

Remember Me As A Time Of Day
Just download a cracked patch.
The Creation Kit has been released, you can find it under tools in Steam.
They've also released a free high resolution texture pack as DLC on Steam but the requirements are at least 4GB of RAM and 1GB of graphics memory
And Steam now has a workshop feature for mods
