I like the look of the m14 over the FAL or G3 because it looks like a rifle to me. Many of today's assault rifles look like machine guns or submachine guns with rifle rounds. I understand why, of course.

All the trailers, all the playable shit at conventions, as well as most of the press releases and shit have been featuring the PC version far more prominently. Why would they direct the overwhelming majority of their marketing capital toward the PC version if they are making a game where the targeted audience is on the console?

Also, they had to reassure console gamers they could scale it down for console. Reading between the very obvious lines there says it's not a console port.
