The droid app store did improve really fast though.
I remember when i first got ym phone, it had very few apps and it was very, very hard to navigate on the phone.
Now, its actually pretty easy to use (comapred to what it used to be) and has quite a few app (i cany use most of em though due to cc or shit hardware)

Oh, I like iTunes. I used it for a very long time. I just started using musicbee this year. I'm just not fond of how the store works.

I've used a Mac since about 1993. My family owned a print shop and Macs were the industry standard. I've used Apple gadgets since the original iPod came out.

oh okey, I was starting to get the idea that you were one of those hardcore anti-mac people lol.

Well, personally, i have no problems with the store whatsoever, and everything can be linked, since i use itunes on my mac and my windows desktop.

looks cool, but as with many keyboards, it takes too much getting used too when theyre not the standard shape/letter order. and Im oretty fast with the reglar one.

Also, it costs money, so i cant try it out

There are ways to try it for free (use ur imagination). I did and concluded for $2.50 its worth it. So I bought the developer a beer.

It's themed and highly customizable.. especially useful for anyone on a tab. I really don't have a problem getting used to a keyboard. It only takes about a day. However some other layouts simply make more sense depending on the device. I have a 4.3 screen and the spacebar on the standard keyboard isn't optimal for me.

To each is own though.

god this phone is glitchy with CM7, I kinda want to revert to Sense 2.2 but that's a pain in the ass with backing stuff up.

I kinda wish Android was more like iOS in terms of updates.

lol CM7. Sense it really nice but if you want to be 1337 with another rom go with SkyRaider . SkyRaider is built around sense.

No.. it's just a long press and drag. For example long press on Y = 6

so now 4G doesn't work on my EVO 4G with CM7. It was working fine, then one day it just stopped. I'll tell it to turn on, it'll say it's starting up or whatever, then it'll go back to being turned off. I haven't installed any new ROMs or anything like that.

good thing the slogan isn't "it just works"

The 2.3 GB update went live OTA while i was at work today. I came how sbf'd and i'm getting the update. Can i still root 2.3 with the conventional ways or will i have to wait a day or two for someone to figure out how to root 2.3? Also are there any major changes?

Edit: This is for DX btw...

You might not be able to. It hasn't gotten to me yet, but some sites were saying that you might want to delay the update until a proper root is out.

I'm liking it. I haven't flashed any 2.3 related firmware before this but everything seems faster and smoother. I guess i can deal without root for now. Can't i always just sbf and return to 2.2?

Basically it gives you full permission to access your device's "root". You are able to remove bloatware.. preinstalled apps, carrier bookmarks and such. You can install a custom rom (firmware) as well.

I'm also able to use my phone as a wifi hotspot for free. My carrier wants to charge for that ability.

If you're dumb enough to take it to the carrier without unrooting. Even then I think the carriers wouldn't care too much. It's not an issue they want to push. Rooting and unrooting is incredibly easy now. Just install an app and it's one click to do either.
