So after 2 years or so I've finally added stuff to my flickr, lol. I've just never really taken the time to mess with it or try to figure it out, but I've finally started to dive into it. I'm still not really sure about how to do a lot of it but I did upload some pictures as well as add a few of you guys that I recognized as contacts. Let me know what you guys think!

I put the photos in the bf2s section I took yesterday. Wish I had the energy last night. Could've gotten a ton of kickass photos with the fog in Helsinki.

Only $900? Lololo. Imagine the file size... That is very cool, but I would be more interested in a star tracking mount, those thigns are just freakin amazing.

Also decided Im going to start saving for my first real good lens: 85 1.8 (all its missing is the red stripe). Only $370 to go
anyone planning on purchasing the new NIKON D7000?

I is gonna get me a pile of nice shuttle launch pix in feb. That is if the launch for once is gonna be at the original date...

So. What kind of lense(s) would you guys (targeting Kmar here ) recommend for my Canon EOS 1000D (Rebel over there) for getting sweet pix of the Endeavour launch? Would the 200mm f2.8 Sigma I have be enough? As for the place to snap photos, is the NASA Causeway the best place to be as NASA says? Apparently it's the closest a regular dude can get.

It depends on the type of shot you want. Some of the most interesting launch pictures Ive seen were taken with ultra-wides and long exposures. If you are wanting detail of the shuttle itself, I would think you would need more reach or cropping. Ive never been within even 2,000 miles of a shuttle launch so I dont know what focal length range exactly you should look for. Maybe 200 with a 1.4x teleconverter?

The last time I was at a launch I asked a pro how much his lens was.. It was a huge tele. He just said 15. I assume he meant 15k. It's a day launch I think, so there isn't too much to worry about. Night launches are a little tricky. As far as locAtion, I just head to Titusville and park my lawn chair anywhere along the strip/water. Just get there early for a prime spot.

the new ipad has an app that does remote shutter release.,. this thing looks awesome!
"DSLR cameras and the Canon EOS Rebel T1i along with new features. The app requires the Canon or Nikon DSLR camera to be linked with a WiFi-enabled computer running DSLR Camera Remote Server software, a free download. DSLR Camera Remote can remote fire the camera, can adjust settings like aperture, shutter and ISO and offers image review and Live View preview for cameras that support live view, all from an iPhone or iPod touch."

Is there a huge difference between a 18-200mm and a 18-250mm lense? Is it worth to pay the extra $140 for 50mm more?

Hmm... At the current exchange rate it would be just under 100€ more.
its just a lil mo zoom.. you'd want it for sports.. what u shootin

Got a point there. But the f for light is over 4 and the practice arena lights where I shoot are shitty.

No wait, it was 3.5. But the lighting is still poo. If you look at my previous pics you'll know what I mean.

Dont get anything with a zoom range that big, the performance is bad. Better bet would be something in the 50-250 range (canon has 55-250, not sure what sigma has)

Also with your crop factor camera, 50mm turns into ~80mm, so it is a fair bit of extra reach
