you insinuating obama is not christian?
Despite the fact that he swore in on a bible (I know, it's jefferson's bible, but whatever)
Despite the fact that he attends a christian church
Despite the fact that he never has claimed to be of any other faith than christianity?
pssh
or is this an intelligence test?

He's whatever he wants to be. Christian, Muslim, a mixture of both, atheist, unknown, etc.
White power!

Has someone made a poll already if he is an America citizen or not? Wait... wouldn't want to give any ideas.
He's pluralist, but you don't have that option.
I've always thought of him as part of the black freedom/oppression/empowerment movement that is couched in Christian language (and is the mainstay of some churches) and sometimes Black Muslim groups ... more of a social movement than anything spiritual.
Then again, most churches are more of a social group than anything spiritual.

He's WhateverGetsMeElected-inarian, like 99% of the rest of the politicians in the US.
Doesn't make a shit of difference what flavor bible he has as a PR prop.

idc if he worships the man on the moon tbh...he sucks.
George Washington swore on a masonic Bible during inauguration.
Was George Washington a Mason or a Christian?
Does it really matter?

Agnostic, but who can get voted in with that?
I'll be making the conspiracy theories around here now.

It doesn't matter tbh.
I was talking to Alex Jones about this, and it turns out he's actually Jewish. Who'd have thought it.
Did not know that, hmmm.Phrozenbot wrote:

where's the 'it doesn't matter one fucking bit, therefore i dont care' option?
religion and exercise of political power should be VERY separate
and im talking 'separate' along the lines of the personal and the public.

why does it matter? unless you're the leader of a theocracy or a fundamentalist state, why should your personal beliefs have any interference with your political decisions? i don't think obama's economic policy, social policy or military strategy has anyhting to do with his christian denomination, his thoughts on Allah or his reading into buddhist philosophy. it's irrelevant. it's another arbitrary characteristic for you dumb-fuck voters to discriminate and stereotype against; obama is a bad and unfit politician because he's a muslim! no.

Because it is a very real issue in political decisions ... we have many policies that are specifically developed based on some view or another of religion.Uzique wrote:

(e.g., our stubborn support of Israel)
i think the support of israel is more of a geopolitical power/influence game-- a 'strategy', more than an ideological alliance.
to suggest a christian president is allied with the zionist cause is a bit fucking stupid, isn't it?
and isn't it even more bloody ridiculous to make allegations that obama is a muslim, and then cite the israel situation?!?

if you're judging barry obama's religious beliefs on his political decisions (in a poorly illogical attempt at deduction), then i can see no other answer than to declare him pluralistic- pan-spiritual - multiplicit in his beliefs. he is an orthodox, zionist jew in one minute, for continuing to support the israeli cause; the next minute, he is a hardcore fundamentalist islamic warrior, for not raising objection to muslim community centres in new-york; the next, he is a puritanical, deeply conservative and pious christian, for his sunday worship arrangements...
it does not matter in the slightest, honestly.
