BF2S Forums Attack choppers.

Nah, some maps invite attack chopper pilots to cap flags and stay even quite safe by doing so.
Have a look at Ghost Town, e.g., the Eastern and Western flags WANT to be capped by helis.
But there are many cases/maps you'd be right. Although the gunner can at least take care to avoid at least attacks by HJ or AT. Flags are never safe places, neither for infantry nor for vehicles, so the lack of invisiblity can't surprise us when it comes to choppers.

I essentially agree with the OP. There are occasional  times when when the conditions are right and it is safe to cap a flag, but more often than not, it is a suicidal gesture on the part of the pilot. The last n00b pilot who chaufferred me around turned AWAY from the Cobra, quickly overflew a couple of tanks (too fast to switch to TV and get a shot off) and went to cap the River fortification flag on Oman....  The flag barely budged before the Cobra had a TV missile up our pipes. That was the first chopper sortie of the round...not an auspicious start...

Yeah J-10 rules, but the problem is there's most likely waiting +5 people for that thing, so you most definatelly get TK'd when you get in the plane first, or you fly over people when in take-off (IF you even make it INTO the airplane with over 5 people desperate to fly it).

Although waiting times for the heli are quite high as well ...

i have had the bad luck lately of getting the noob gunners that DONT SHOOT AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!
I freakn hovered at shaqui and ther was like 10 peeps on the hill above const.site and we got taken out by a tank........ COULDA HAD 5 THEN LEFT   

Yeah... Unless the server is pretty empty I just do a tight circle strafe to cap the flag.

I understand your frustration but capping flags in the helos is often necessary.Just do not hover in one place and be aware of your surroundings.Having your gunner bail to speed up the process helps also as long as you have a UAV overhead.
Being the gunner of a dumb ass pilot can be frustrating.

i also feel this way and i fucking love it when i take down the cocky shits who just whore to rack up kills without even trying to take a flag .i would love to meet one in real life and spit in the fuckers face .
