Hopefully someone can help me out here.
I moved my computer around in my room, booted it up and everything was fine. Started Project Torque and got a blue screen for a fraction of a second and it rebooted. As soon as it says "welcome" I have artifacts and it bsod again.
I had to go in safe mode to uninstall the drivers for my video card, reboot and once in windows reinstall the drivers. Everything was fine until I started up a game. But now when i go safemode-->uninstall driver-->reboot-->reinstall driver it artifacts and bsod.
Now I'm on my computer with no video card drivers installed and it's been on for 6 hours and no problems. I only artifact/bsod when i get into windows with the drivers installed.
HELP.
Windows 7 32bit
2900XT
I tried older drivers and same thing. Was working ok before. I don't get it

Did you recently update drivers or install new software/hardware?Phatmatt wrote:

No new hardware. Last thing I remember installing was Project Torque and it was fine for the 3 or so days before this.
I might of gotten a windows update the same day, not sure and if it was I'm pretty sure it was malware definition update or what ever that is. I'll check that now.

Do you have the latest drivers for your hardware?
And try getting the previous driver and see if that does something....
Hmm, I don't know otherwise,, maybe clean your PC inside? (with compressed air)

Update for Microsoft Windows (KB979099)
The rest are "Security Update for Mircosoft Windows". I have 5 of these updates on the same day. (Restore point so I had to install these again)
I'll try uninstalling these and see if that helps.
I already tried the newest drivers, and older drivers. nada.
Case is dust free.

Did a system restore back to Feb 9th. Same thing. So it's probably hardware related. Gonna check my case now. I know my ram is good I tried one stick at the time and same thing happen every time.
If I find nothing I'll reinstall windows. Hoping my video card didn't crap out on me..

A mate of mine had the same thing happen, although that's because one of his uni mates accidentally knocked it off a table. And he was suppose to come round and give me all the Studio Ghibli movies he had on it
Pen enabled maybe, professional graphics artist standard, I doubt it, it'll still just be for poking buttons. I just want a Cintiq with a PC stuffed in it lol.Sydney wrote:

What's the standard setup for 5.1 speakers? Is it with two "rear" speakers or two "side" speakers?
Along with left, right, center, sub.

ya, someone told me on IM. Thanks
I listened to a very good programme on BBC Radio 4 yesterday about a place called Spruce Pine, North Carolina, and how their quartz is the purest currently produced on the planet, the quartz is used to make crucibles which in turn help create the silicone used for chips.
Really was a great listen and i was completely unaware that a relatively small area of the planet was responsible for a process so crucial to chip manufacturing.
The area is a very closely guarded secret also, i.e. the actual process of mining the quartz and how it's so refined.
You can listen again here

Experimented on lappy with the new ground breaking WGA patch from MS and it got raped in less than 20mins. Good luck next time... that was absolute worst case scenario as I pretented to be dumb and installed the heavy duty tester myself from MS site....
