I found the handling in NFS Shift to my liking better. The cars in DIRT2 seemed kinda iffy and floaty. And the response to using the throttle and the general responses to acceleration/braking didn't really seem to exist.

Saying all that, Shift is a track game, Dirt is a ... dirt game. Two different things entirely.

DX11 graphics are pretty good, especially the water effects on your windshield. The night lighting is great in this game too

Also online multiplayer is a lot of fun

Mek, they are two different games entirely, but I felt Shifts handling was very 100%/0%. It was on or off, very knife edge. There was no inbetween, even when using my gamepad. Just not to my liking at all.

The water on windshield effect makes me drive in-car view. It's such a disadvantage driving without being able to see when you hit a puddle, but it's sooooooooooooooooooooo pretty.

Cockpit view is the only view.

Still having a tough time with the gearing in the first car... Weird timing tbh.. Only played for 20 minutes just now, but it seems very nice. So nice that I might have to go buy it, especially if Lucien's words about the multilayer are true..

I hate the auto gearbox, it always keeps me in 2nd at 3kRPM... I'm sitting there like, first please?

And I don't know how to edit the buttons for manual.

play a lobby where collision is on, enjoy overly agressive players who can't drive for shit and massive first-corner car pileups

play a lobby without collision and suddenly, fun everywhere

I've been playin a bit too. Extremly fun, though cock pit view is pretty hard.

Is it really worth buying though, that's the question.

^^The truth tbh ... if you get past the first major collision just after start you have a pretty good chance of winning the race

I survived a perfect barrel roll right before the finish of a multiplayer rally race. Pushed it just too hard, caught a rock wall, and got flipped over but landed just fine and just kept going. Fuck yes, luck

Haha, love it when that happens.

I love the instant replay function. It's an idea i first saw in nfs shift... but in dirt 2 it's polished.

Am I the only person who prefers driving with a keyboard to a controller?

I own burnout paradise on PS3 and PC, and I find the PC version oodles easier to handle.

Just started playing it today and so far I'm not impressed. The graphics aren't spectacular (even though I'm not in DX11 - but still, I expected a bit more, it almost looks grainy).

The worst bit by far though is the handling. I've tried keyboard and my 360 controller and it just feels shit.

Going round a corner is fine but in a straight line tiny movements with the analog-stick send the car twitching all over the place.

I finally got it manageable after tweaking A LOT of the advanced manual steering controls but I don't expect to have to do that to get it playable.

Like Mek said, I prefer the handling on Shift, even though it is a different style of driving game.

Turn the sensitivity down on your gamepad... It's not the games fault. When you get a new FPS game, you adjust the mouse sens to your liking right? Same thing here.

Also I have no idea what you're on about regarding graphics, this is the best looking game I have ever seen. Period.

probably because you're using a rock as a graphics card.

Well, aside from the fact I can run anything on max graphics at my res, this isn't the only computer I've ever gamed on.
