Age of Empires 3 + 64 bit vista

Basically it seems that the game isn't compatible with 64bit vista ...and when i go to install the game it gives me a compatibility error...if i bypass the error an install the game it fails hard on start up. Yet I've seen evidence of people playing the game on 64 bit vista. This seems all quite weird seen as the game itself is certified by Microsoft

So my question to you bf2s....is how do i get it running...me an mate miss the game an i wanna get its silky graphics running on my new PC for a LAN party im going to next week.

I was able to run it on Vista 64 bit ultimate. Install the game on another computer, or another partition with old operating system, then copy and paste all the files over. You probably need a no-cd crack.

It worked for me.

The game files are like 260mb installed so you can take them over on a thumb drive or w/e from a friends house.

okay basically what happens is regardless of the pc i try to install it on ....it goes through the full installation an halts at the last bit ...saying it cannot find the file art2.bar

Regardless of which OS? Sounds like you have a corrupted cd, probably from scratches. I've read you can use toothpaste to resolve that issue, or if like my AoK + AoC both cracked from brittleness as they got old. Suggest you go to mininova.org and resolve your issue there.

I have AoE3 and both expansions along with x64 Vista with no compatibility issues whatsoever. Sounds to me like you just have dirty disks.

yeah i had no issues at all when i installed aoe3 with the expansions on x64 vista. the only thing was, the very first time i played it, it failed to start. it was easily remedied with a restart.

i just run it through alcohol now, it makes it much more convenient for me since im on a laptop.
