- Why do airplanes have those little swirls on the center of the turbine
If the blades are moving the centre will be white. If not its black with a spiral.

True, Luftwaffe have always done it, as when the blades are spinning you can see though them, if you see a white swirl, then you can easily see that they are on.nukchebi0 wrote:

Is it so wrong that I thought that jet looked totally awesome?SenorToenails wrote:

That is the funkiest looking jet I have ever seen. Wiki?
It's probably a Photoshop Phriday or something, but it is certainly a photo edit. That is NOT a real aircraft.

I dont know why swirling things are on the fin. I mean the plane is so damn loud when the turbine(s) are on.
..omg-
"you know life is what we make it, and a chance is like a picture, it'd be nice if you just take it"
i think that they are there to scare off birds when the plane is in the air!!!!
birds flying into engines can bring a small plane down with no problem!!!

Its called "PIMP MY PLANE"

There are many more, especially military, like that video, of people surviving. Count your lucky stars if you survived that.RoosterCantrell wrote:

Where would you put it? How could you tell how much the engines were on? These are all things that the swirl covers.Ryan wrote:

When I first saw the OP picture, it reminded me of that picture where some guy photoshopped a lamprey mouth onto his finger and passed it off as frostbite. I'm shivering at that memory.
You don't survive getting sucked into a giant turbine like the one on giant Air Liners. You can survive getting sucked into a smaller jet engine from say a fighter jet because usually you end up getting stuck in the frame instead of actually getting sucked into the scary part.
