The couple of episodes I saw seemed like typical Hollywood bullshit programming for armchair patriots. Check out 'Off To War' on the Discovery/Times channel or their documentary 'Virgin Soldiers'.

I watched the first couple of episodes and have to say it didn't do a great deal for me I was hoping for more but i guess censorhip got in the way to a certain extent. I don't wish to demean what the guys and gals "over there" are doing (agree or disagree with the "war" as you see fit, but support the people involved!) but the series to me is a much sanitised version of what is happening in Iraq.

Thats my take anyway.

Hello guys,
I like good movies, so I may have an advice for an serious, good movie about a Squad of British Soldiers in Bosnia in the early ´90, it is a BBC-Production (TV-Movie, i think), about 4 hours long; it is called "Warriors", just like the APC they are using there...
If you can, watch it , it is sometimes cruel to spectate for the audience, but the news may be that too, sometimes.

The theme tune fucking sucks. I found myself absent-mindedly playing it o the guitar the other day so I had to slap myself.
I've seen all the episodes - at least all the current episodes. I don't take it as a true view of the war in Iraq, but it's pretty entertaining. I heard some Vets were kind of pissed off about it, but in takling a taboo issue - that being making a fictional drama/war show about a war that is still going on - they were bound to piss off someone. I like it though. It's entertaining.

A war movie I want to see is called "Two men went to war." It's about these two brits who wern't let into the army, so they rowed over to France and fought anyway by blowing up German HQs and the like. Meant to be pretty funny too, but it's a true story.

Wow, so New Zealand's ahead of the world here are we? They've played all the episodes twice now on NZ TV. That guy getting his head cut of wasn't very realistic, I mean, using that big rusty sword it came off just like the terrorist guy was cutting through butter. did you know the lead actor in Warriors (character name escapes me now) played Cpt Winters in Band of Brothers? useless piece of info i know
