EA bought DICE. So it's EA's responsibility in a way. But, it is
They put up enough of a fight to keep servers fairly clean (punkbuster) and wipe hacked stats. That's not bad for EA, considering it is an aging game.
the stats was a feature that sold Bf2 well. It will be back, and it's complexity was fairly new. EA probably learned alot from BF2, how to make it work, what people like, what weakpoints, what bugs, etc.
Be glad BF2 did as well as it did, it had fairly origonal concepts.
Where BF2 & EA totally failed, they will learn from and make BF3 (er whatever) A fucknig awesome game.
In the long run, you are basically btiching about a "beta" game. It had such a new approach, there was no previous waters to draw test results from. For a game to be still chugging along after so many newer FPS games came about is a pretty good testament.

DICE should give bf2s the full control over the stat system. As our admins check the site at least twice a day they could remove,ban,delete those accounts from the whole bf2 stat system. But as you guys would reply on this "never gonna happen" but it would be nice.
