Okay. I don't know if anyone's ever seen a nudist colony website, but they're ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. At least, some of them are. I read an essay in the newspaper about certain organizations who find loopholes in laws and abuse them on the internet. This essay was prominently discussing nudist colonies that have websites that explicitly feature pictures and videos of young, underage girls. Now, it's "acceptable" because they're part of a "nudist colony," but if you ask me, this is absolutely disgusting.
I'm not going to post any links, and I strongly advise you to not go to these sites yourself unless you're fully aware of what you're going to be seeing.
Can someone explain to me how this is acceptable in the least?
Certain sites even feature purchasable DVDs. !?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
What the hell?!!??!
I'm supportive of self expression, and if that means walking around naked along with like-minded peers, then sure... but I see these websites as a serious exploitation of underage girls in particular.

Discuss.

Nudism is just wanting to be nude for the sake of being nude.
Naturism on the other hand is trying to be in touch with nature and clothing-optional is one way to express that. Unfortunately a lot of people with the wrong intentions visit these resorts;

Yeah, I understand what they are and I think, in principal, they are fine. However, there are a select few websites that somehow get away with posting pictures and selling dvds that are nothing less than child pornography. I'm shocked.

A satirical program which runs over here in Aus, The Chasers War On Everything, had a "citizen's infrigment officer" (parking cop) go onto one of these beaches and hand out fake fines to people wearing any forms of clothing. Hats, sunglasses, etc. And from what was really obvious from what I saw, there were plenty of dirty old men, and very few females. Less still young girls. I'd post the youtube cause it is quite funny, but it does have nipples (gasp) and would be removed by mods.

I'd expect though that the nudist colonies would not allow filming, etc if they did not know about it and give consent in the first place. And if there are young children at these beaches, you don't have to stretch the imagination to know that the parents are too trusting.

one certain site I saw, which I can't link to, was absolutely terrifying. Either the parents of all the kids are in on the DVD sale, or the "organization" is exploiting these people severely. Although, I think anyone under 18 at a nudist colony is exploitative...

That would be funnier if they had spelled "masturbate" correctly.

I think this says more about society and the hysteria around paedophillia.  We have been made to feel that if you view a minor naked then you are a Paedo, regardless of whether your motive was for sexual gratification or not.

The other day I met my girlfriend's little niece, we were playing and I was gonna give her a kiss on the cheek and stopped myslef in case her family thought i was a child molester.  That is pretty stupid when you think about it but just the way the world is now I'm afraid.

I take your point that a real Paedo's could use these sites for their own gratification or even that the sites have been set up by them and thus I can't defend children being in pictures or on DVDs but I wouldn't criticise a genuine nudist family who went to one.  Afterall, if it is acceptable to force religion into kids I don't see anything wrong with naturism if you believe in it.

I'd have to say that I heartily agree with EstebanRey. Society has forced so many people into avoiding doing things that would otherwise be normal out of fear of loss of social status.
I can't kiss my cousin goodbye around friends (not my best friends, more like colleagues).

Agreed, there was a story of a guy in the UK who was attacked because he was a Paediatrician.  Even dyslexics are getting violent!

I totally agree. I guess you could outlaw nudism for the the sake of "child pornography", but the risk of abuse of pictures of a nudist colony being misused is just one of those things you have to deal with in for the sake of a free country.

And yet, there are at least three cases that I know of, where a parent or grandparent has been arrested and forced to register as a sex offender because they took pictures of their kids/grandkids naked, in an innocent way, and posted them on the internet.

And I do mean innocent... One was the kid playing in a tub, and one was a "funny" picture of a kid that took his diaper off and ran around a park playground...

And yet as long as you have an organization behind you, here in America, it is legal and fine...
