The only advantage a mac has over a pc is that the physical object looks better on your desk. Who the FUCK cares about that? I have a butt-ugly bigass gray tower sitting on my desk. It looks like utter shit. I don't give a crap. Why? Because it was cheap, it does everything I want, and I can play every game on it (except crysis lol).

I hate how mac users pretend how they're "more creative" or "hip" than pc users. Your computer looks better, but my computer can run video and music programs just as well. I can understand wanting your car to look stylish or cool, or your clothes, or your phone. But your goddamn computer?
Computers have nothing to do with being cool. Computers are inherently uncool. It's all about what's on the inside. I'll pick an ugly but powerful pc over a stylish and weak one every time.
I can find several notebooks that look nicer than any apple notebook.....

e.g. the new XPS M1330 / The new Alienware notebook (which i find to be the nicest looking notebook i have ever seen)

answer = Windows and PC's are the most commonly bought shit, its cheaper. Its Easier.
Mac wants lewt, and they have something different, so they market it as better, why? Cause its expencive.

If some company went and sold a montior that worked just the same but wasnt a name brand like LG chances are they wouldnt buy it, they want the REAL expensive NICE stuff.

Its just a common misconception that more lewt = better shit. (not getting in the mac arguement)

But Vista and windows is stealing all of the Mac shit anyway, so ill just build a cheap ass PC that can run crysis and do awesome stuff that isnt buggy (another misconception that windows = bugs and viruses). Its easier, plus like all software is Windows compatable.

I've tried refraining from purchasing products from manufacturers who use harsh, mudslinging, name-calling tactics. Such as Mac. It seems like such a desparate attempt to attract unintelligent customers.

So far, this (and Alltel wireless) are the only companies I've come across.

Yes, they do charge $2500 for a freeking 8-core, 3.0 GHz, 3-terabyte HD, super drive, and graphic capabilities to make, create and edit Pixar movies. For what you'd want, its more like $1000-$1500.
um no a Mac pro with those specs is about $7500 with no monitor. (2 quad 3.0 ghz xeons, 3 terabytes of storage and the graphic abilities to render a 3d moie)   2500 get you 2 dual cores, 250 gigabytes of storage, and a 7300gt.  and both of those prices are only 1 gig of ram.

Fucking fail.

Get two 8800GTs and your miles ahead. But then again, no one ever really proved that Mac's were ahead of the curve, if you will.

I want some physical proof that Mac's outperform PCs. Benchmarks, things of that nature.

Who shits if you can run PS, iTunes, and Final Cut at the same time? You can only do one anyways..

Depends, its not so simple to say, oo, it has 4 7300GTs, ZOMG my 8800GT uberr pwns that.

As in gaming, then yeah sure, but that isnt what there built for.

Dont think anyone will dispute who wins under gaming circumstances, but when you take all the various other apps into acount, when mega multi tasking is a big plus point.  Then, you cant really take that away from macs

It depends on what you need it for, which is going to be better, simple as

They kernel panic, or "become unresponsive", to quote Steve Jobs.
I had that happen to me quite a few times at work, and I use a brandnew Mac that has 2 quadro processors, for broadcast video editing. That or the mouse leaves sometimes, gone. I can have it back by clicking the wheel on the mouse. So far I have not been impressed by Macs, so I ain't gonna switch for now, even though you can emulate windows and play all the games on it.

Oh yea, the ones at work are worth about 4-5000$, with the 2 quadro cpu, and the 4g of memory, and the dual widescreen LCD monitors, and that includes the Final Cut Pro suite and the Adobe suite, all that hooked to the x-san server that has 19TB of space.. which is quite small actually. I thought we had lots of space, but we have 1.66TB left (as of last night).

No they don't charge $2500 for a system like that. They charge nearly $6000. You are the one talking rubbish.
https://img132.imageshack.us/img132/7857/18059986mk9.jpg

There are places you can get it cheaper. Especially if you work for Apple like I do. But from Apple (without a staff discount) that's what it costs.
That's with a shitty 7300GT too. Hardly high end graphics.

I use dozens of Macs of all varieties every day (although I didn't today, I spent most of the day driving around with a van load of Xserves installing them at various companies foolish enough to use Macs as their servers). I can safely say that Mac hardware is amongst the worst I have ever seen.

Mac users who like their Macs need to accept that the only reasons for liking them are the simplicity of the OS and the prettiness of their design. They are not even close to being in the same price/performance league as PCs, nor are they even close to having the same level of hardware reliability.

If it wasn't the fact that it was incompatible with the things I like, cost a load more and couldn't be upgraded I still wouldn't consider one. It's that stupid attitude that mac users have. This idea that they're part of a community higher than the average Windows user who's immune to viruses and crashing. These are the kind of people that when encountered with a simple error message, resemble a shit flinging chimp.
