I fired a tank round in the Zatar Wetlands and destroyed a tank in Call of Duty 2. It was an easy one-shot kill those Shermans pretty much suck against an M1.
I've taken helicopters down that were out of my draw distance and at least 300-400m with tank shells (I love being able to see the names of enemies out of draw distance). I always assumed they kept going until they dipped and hit something.
IT'S NOT A TANK SHELL it's a tank round. The shell is what holds the powder to fire the round.
explain then, if you would be so kind, why they refer to "shelling" a target...
Artillery... commence dropping empty Cannon Casings on the enemy!

My shells fly about 50 meters. Have to run BF2 on LOWEST video
Not actually true. A shell is a projectile which contains explosives rather than being solid, like a bullet is.airborne916 wrote:

I believe reliable sources such as wikipedia and google search over the word of someone on a forum.

Interesting. I'm an American and I call it a tank shell, and everyone I've ever heard in my life calls it a tank shell. Even freaking history channel says tank shell.airborne916 wrote:

I call it a conch shell.
hmmm it's been awhile but without going to look it up somewhere I think it goes this way:
Shell + Shell Casing = One Round*
*Note: the shell and casing must be attached when refering to it as a 'round' otherwise once separated they change supply classes and become hazardous material and dunnage......ah too much dust

Thats right, a tank's shell can go atleast 590 meters! I was sitting on the island lobbing shells at the carrier, I got 2 kill damage assists and killed scottishdwarf If only we had a reliable aiming system
I win
Yeah I love doing that with lavs too, its a shame the rocket is hard to guide at several hundred metersTehMyke wrote:
