Good MMORPGS similar to WoW

I used to play WoW and took a break from playing it, I'll probably never play it again. I'm looking for a solid MMORPG any ideas?

This is the criteria i want the game to follow
[list]
[*] Decent Graphics.
[*] Free.
[*] The in-game chat isn't spammed with "100 Gold for $19.95".
[*] It has many levels, items, and "quests" in game.
[*] Mid-evil setting and characters. (i.e. knights, wizards, and other "class specifications" as such.)

If he meant free as in no monthly fee, Guild Wars is the answer! It's a great game, lasting me like 600 hours even though I don't really play games all that much.

If he meant free as in totally free, the words wishful thinking come to mind... I haven't ever found a free internet game that is even close to being copmparable to WOW. For obvious reasons..

Runescape is great though

It's really buggy though and I think you want to get away from WoW anyway. I'm just saying, if you want to play WoW for free, that's what I use.

Keep on dreaming. Your best bet is Guild Wars (no monthly fees), but I believe that only has MMO cities, outside them you and your party are alone.

There are plenty of free ones around such as Silkroad Online, but they're all just worse versions of WoW. Hardly free, but If you pay £100 (about the price of a years membership) or so you get lifetime membership of LOTR Online. Not sure if that offer is still open though, it may have been a launch thing.
