there's no doubt that chuck liddell is a very effective fighter, especially in the ufc where good strikers are relatively rare.

i'm not a fan of his fighting style though. all he does is counterpunch. i prefer fighters who are aggressive and push the pace.

I understand what you mean, but Chuck is a very smart fighter. He has the best takedown defense in the game, and if you want to beat him, he makes you come to him...and that's where he puts you down.

I'd like to see him fight Wanderlei Silva. That guy is fucking scary.

he was actually supposed to, in feburary. wanderlei was slated to come back to the ufc in a vegas event. but due to silva's loss in the 2006 PRIDE open weight tourney, ufc president dana white canceled the event with silva, which was a real disappointment to me. wanderlei silva is one of the most exciting fighers out there today.

but they'd have fought under vegas rules, so we wouldn't see silva's trademark brutality, like face stomps and soccer kicks to the head.

on the upside, the UFC has signed a 6-fight deal with mirko crocop filipovic, again probably due to his winning of the open weight grand prix recently. cro cop just keeps getting better all the time. he is now the top contender for the PRIDE heavy belt, but now there's this deal with the ufc, and i'm not sure how that's going to affect his japanese career.

they talked to lidell after the fight and pointed out that he got his ass kicked by this guy in the past. the son of a bitch looks mean as hell and was wearing a fat chain, literally a chain probably a good 2 inches in diameter.....not gold, a fucking steel chain.

the man you speak of is quentin 'rampage' jackson, who fights in PRIDE and is a beast. he relies on wrestling and pure power to overwhelm opponents, and also likes to body slam people. he has knocked out his opponent by power bomb, which is VERY unusual. just another reason why PRIDE is a lot more exciting to watch than UFC.
