The one thing that really needs fixing with mortars is being able to deploy/use them within an uncap or deployment area. Those are "off the map" for the other team and the result is you have a mortar it's very tough to get to and kill. I did it one time but it's hard with your vision all screwy, a 10sec countdown and a warning message taking up the center of your screen.

That happened on Seine and the mortar was effective given the deploy area's proximity to the other flag points. They could fix this by just disallowing their placement within those areas as if it's rough terrain.

yeah I hate that they made it WHITE and blurry , bf3 is already making it hard to see most of the stuff most of the time due to FLASH , and BLOOM , dunno why they changed it , I thought it was fine in the beta (no white/blurr)

Nah. I think being able to place in the deployment is good in case for whatever reason your team get pressed back. Gives you a good chance of pulling back out.

When two guys are using them the way they did, it is OP and I still hate it.
