That is a couple years old.
Watch FutureCar on Discovery Channel. Flying cars are less than a decade away and I'd say it wouldn't be uncommon to see a couple a day 50 years from now. I doubt they come mainstream in my lifetime (I'm 15 so thats quite a while from now) but they are already prototyped and working right now.Superior Mind wrote:

Umm I used XP home for years and just recently (last month) switched to media center (which is still a version of XP...) and the themes are the same.
Nothing changes except I find that it is a little less stable for gaming or intensive apps.

He meant behind as in "they are 4 months behind Nvidia." It's no shocker they are ahead of the 8800GTX, after all they ARE a couple months after it. I'm a little upset that they still aren't ahead by that much considering the time difference.leetkyle wrote:
Huh? The benchmarks were put out and ATI beat nVidia in every game bar BF2, by a mere 3 FPS.Kmarion wrote:
Still it's quite a bit behind Nvidia's DX10 card.
The 6800XT or X800GTO is your best bet in that price range.

Can using DHMO improve my marriage?
This is a popular myth, but one which is also actually supported by a number of scientific facts. Dihydrogen Monoxide plays an instrumental role in the centers of the brain associated with feelings of emotional attachment and love. Married couples have found that regular ingestion of DHMO can improve their marriage-related activities, while couples that never ingest DHMO often find that their marriage suffers as well.
LOL!!!

I agree a few articles would be fine since he did win the derby and all but gees almost like 24/7 SC coverage is too much.

I love how everyone thinks that just because something new has come out that the technology it "replaced" is obsolete.
Less than a year ago DDR was all anybody used. Hardly anybody had a dualcore processor.
Now DDR2 is here and its more mainstream and all of a sudden people think DDR sucks, when in reality its still good. Same thing with processors, now everybody thinks that 2 cores isn't good enough to do a job we used to do with only a single core. You think 4 cores is necessary and 2 cores aren't enough just because the technology is here.

Besides the fact that there's nothing wrong with DDR Ram..? .....yeh thats hilarious? I don't quite get your point.Zero!. wrote:

seems strange for it not to have DDR2 as thats newer
meh.
I would buy the comp then buy a 7600GT or better and you can run on all high.
Whats up with the "Do you see 4 people?" one... I see a huge face that is also 2 people. Then there is something lying on the roadway. Where are the other 2 people?
I thought this was gonna be about the song lol
QFT Any CA product is good. I use their eTrust AV and Personal Firewall. I get it free from my ISP, much better than Norton and I've never ever had a problem with it in over 1.5 years of use.Mong0ose wrote:
Used to use Norton - it blows and hogs resource

Not had 1 problem with it
I had the same problem and unknowingly I decided to download the dual core optimizer and boom it was fixed. I guessed it was the patch but i didn't know, now I do! lol
I find Azureus to be the best for torrents...
I'm also getting a little tired of Limewire with all of the lame search results. The first half of the results is always something "not related to: <insert song name>".

I don't know where all of you get these numbers...
Right now with 2x IE, MSN IM, and 50 other processes (including anti-virus and anti-spyware) I'm running at about 500mb used. If I dump everything and just let it idle with nothing running but anti-virus/anti-spyware/firewall it sits at about 300MB (and thats still with about 40 processes in the background.)
I think 200mb is the closest estimate so far.

Single 8800GTX may not have the better benches but from a financial standpoint its better.
Yeh... Don't buy an iPod. Problem solved.
There are tons of good cases for under $200... Lian-Li makes plenty in that price range.

I'm pretty sure you would need to be pretty high up on the military chain of command or be a tester to fire one of those.

So I've heard...lol
But what happens when you can't get any smaller, faster, etc.?
I have a Razer Diamondback... think its a laser mouse but its really nice. Can't comment on the size i don't really have anything to compare it to. (Although the G5 looks bigger I've never seen one in person though.)
It comes with a FREE Voodoo Tshirt!! w00t w00t!!
Exactly what I'm thinking... they have it roadmapped out until 22nm... but what comes after that? I think that once we get there we need to find a new way to process and send data.The#1Spot wrote:
Physics will only allow technology to be so small and fast to the point where it would be useless to go smaller
It is... look above cores 9,11,14 you can see the heading bar slightly ends (or dips like its going to end).BigmacK wrote:

Where do we go from there?
Well look at it this way... by late 07 it will be ~$133 (Dailytech reported) and its definitely possible for a 100% OC. (stock = 1.8, can do 3.6) So for $133 you are getting 3.6ghz and performance to that of a $900 X6800 on stock speeds.
You tell me which is better...

Anyways... nobody said anything about you automatically have to upgrade to 8 cores just because its there if you want to. I think dual-core is the new norm and will stay that way for a couple years. I say in 5 years technology will slow-down because the consumer will be way too far behind and we will have to catch up.
That will be fine just throw in a 7600GT and you will be able to play on all high.
I play all high @ 1440x900 with:
4200+ X2
1GB
7600GT
Your specs aren't much farther from mine so I would imagine that unless you run 1600x1200 you could run on all high settings if you put in a 7600GT.

Yeh they expect to be shelved late 07 IIRC. Well ahead of schedule! (Not normal for us to be saying those words in this industry...)
The E4300 is the better OCer.
For stock speeds you would be better with the E6300.

One hundred million dollars? Thats alot of prostitutes....
You can't download or save movies from YouTube... I think that was one of your questions?
I don't see why you would want an awesome gaming laptop anyway... Why not just upgrade this box or just build a new desktop. Why a laptop for games?
$250 if you include the monitor... If its socket AM2 maybe a little more. But thats all I'd pay for it.
Early 06... Times were better back then...
Great another country for us to invade!
Besides the fact that you have to carry around another little monitor with it? I like the idea but it needs a little work...
If you don't run Vista its useless to buy a DX10 card... just remember that.
You don't need 4 grand for a computer nowadays... Just a little over 2k will get you more than what you need.
