We do depend on each other but you're crazy to think that we're more powerful than them. If you think about it most of the communists are far more powerful than us. It's a scary thing to think about, considering their army alone is 10 soldiers per every 1 us citizen, that's counting the military.cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:

I do the same thing a lot, I'm 22 now and I think of death everyday, partially because my mother passed away at the age of 38 just three years ago. Her birthday is coming up in two weeks so that's making me think of it more. I see it as this, you decide your fate, from the split second reaction to avoiding a car accident to the way you treat your body could most definitly inhibit your success rate of living.
This really astounds me that such a young man is thinking about this so much to the point he actually feels like breaking down. I'm sorry kid, I feel your pain I've always felt it, the thing I like to think about is the vastness of the Universe, even our own galaxy is one day closer to death, granted it may be a billion or so years away it's just the cycle of all of the heavens. I believe the older you get and as you start a family and grow you will come to accept it more and more. Just remember that you set your course, keep your head on straight and don't think about it, death is scary, I will admit that; but that's because we have fear of the UNKNOWN, it's not death itself.
At least our body has nice systems to help 'ease the pain' of death, you know the hardcore, even surreal dreams you have while in R.E.M cycles of sleep? I believe that we go into a 'dream' state until our brain starts to decompose, our electrical circuits still work until the dream turns dark. The only advice I can offer is to take life in strides and don't sweat like this brother. I'm glad you're thinking outside of the box like this, it most definitly let's me know that our future generations aren't as doomed as we've expected. Just remember everything that's ever been on this planet has suffered this 'ultimate' fate, so how bad can it really be?
Until next time.

Dered Roddy is pretty badass but he's all about speed and constant drumming. I myself prefer a bit more technique.
My favorite Metal drummer is of course, Pete Sandoval from Morbid Angel.
But my vote for the best drummer would be Danny Carey from Tool, his drumming style is so sophisticated and utterly brilliant. Danny Carey told a reporter in a press conference that he once sold his soul to Satan himself for l33t drumming prowess.

It's funny you say that, I was speaking to my father about my 'zombie plan' he laughed a lot about it. He did suggest using a crossbow, but eff that jazz I want guns! I have dreams about zombies almost on a nightly basis so it's becoming a little too real for me, little scary!XanKrieger wrote:

As I´m thinking about it, he might be a zombie already...
Anyway, an advice to you sir. I would cut back on the food rations and water, because their weight would slow you down to a dangerous level as soon as you have to abandon your vehicle. Take some more ammo instead. You can grab food and water on your escape, looting stores and stuff on the way.
Sisco out.

I have a lvl 46 dwarven priest on the Medivh realm. I haven't played in 1 month and two weeks, I cannot get addicted to that game I don't see how people do it. I love the game but I'd rather socialize than sit around playing that repetitive game.
Ok, most people think I'm pretty effing insane because I'm honestly prepping for a zombie attack or just total anarchy. My worst fear ever is most definitly chaos, what could be worse than total chaos, add undead people that want to eat you alive to the equation! I have a entire list of things that I'm doing to get 'ready' some of them include; Keeping my gas tank full constantly, I have some trail mix and a days supply of water in my vehicle.
A military Alice Pack complete with sleeping bags, mess kit, first aid, sleeping bag, tent and winter gear for the cold months, matches flint etc. I keep an entire box of MRE's and a few cases of water and a full camel-back prepared in my closet. If something were to happen when I'm not home I'm going to be sure to run home as quick as possible. Something to take into consideration during a zombie attack would to get a four wheeler or a dirt bike, traffic will be horrible during times of panic so this may be the best way to actually get around. I'm currently saving up for a new .45 pistol to keep in my truck during such occasions, odds are you just may have to desert your vehicle and flee on foot away from copious amounts of attackers/people getting attacked.
If these are the standard 'slow zombies' you'll just have to worry about being surrounded by the masses, but if they're fast like 28 days later you're basically screwed unless you're a very stealthy person. Remember to be as quiet as possible as you try to make it back home. After I have my gear loaded up make sure you have some fire power. Hopefully I have my .45 by then but I have 1 Remington 870 express, 1 Mossberg 500 pump-action 12 gauge shotguns, and a tactile police issue "pig" shotgun, this bad boy has a collapsible stock and a 18" barrel with a nice large flashlight attached at the end of the barrel for those future night fleeing sessions. I've stocked up 00 buck ammo, because lets face it, what the hell is bird shot going to do to some zombies? I also have a AR-15 take as much guns/ammo you have in case you run into people, keep as many people around "especially hot chicks" but every person you run into will need to be completely searched for bites, scratches/bleeding. So when it's safe each and every person will need to be completely naked, this is to ensure your own survival. Keep the weak and slow as well if things get hairy you can use them as bait.
Gear is a main factor, in my pack I have lots of winter gear, safety glasses and a face mask you don't want blood to get in your eyes when you're smoking zombies all day or you'll be one yourself. No fluids shall be exchanged with the living and the infected. You have to have balls to shoot anyone that has a cut or bite on them, no matter who they are. Your closes friends you can trust, if it's really just something that happened while fleeing or not, I'd expect someone to put a bullet in my head to save me from being one of the undead, especially a close friend so you've got to be willing to do this for your friends/family. Who cares about people you do not know, eventually you'll be so hardened that it wont matter. Just remember about future procreation, so if the zombies go away somehow, you'll have to keep the race going.
It's always nice to have a group of friends that know exactly what's going down so everyone can meet up and rob the hell out of the local gun store, find a good place to shack up for a bit I have a place in mind but I do not want to disclose the info. If there are copious amounts of zombies and your will is broken, just simply shoot yourselves there is no point in going on if you have no will power so stay strong. Good luck and I hope everyone has a plan soon. Remember we will need engineers/computer techs and everyone needs to know their environment. Who know's you could be the person to get the internets going again, along with the power grid to re-establish communications and save mankind!

LeetKyle it's nice that you're willing to bet on that, I actually have used Vista quite a bit in a testing environment, no I didn't like it. It's not stable enough for me to give good reviews, Drivers are in strong beta and it's a full OS release? How much sense does that make, do you realize the impact this OS is having in the corporate world? It's a piece of shit, the only people that are using Vista are the neophytes that think they're on the bleeding edge. Don't even get me started on I.E 7, at least I can connect to works Citrix portal with firefox on a *NIX platform. Vista is costing the corporation I work for Millions of dollars in development and implementation.leetkyle wrote:

So before you assume please ask me first mate, I'm a avid *NIX user I'm not a fan boy per se. I don't have any problems with XP now that the OS has MOST of it's issues worked out, nothing is perfect I understand that. If micro$haft would have waited a bit longer to release this OS maybe I wouldn't have hard feelings towards it. I'm not sure if you read a bit higher, but did I not say the default firewall included with Vista would be sufficient given he is behind a router? I don't hate Microsoft I just don't agree with the way they force customers into using new products like bully's, you're nothing but a under-paid beta tester in their eyes.
I don't know much about it I just wanted to wish you luck. GOOD LUCK!
I'm sure it has to do with your boot loader/system configuration. A proper dual-booting system has no issues, even if you use the windows boot loader. So I don't know why those guys are having issues =/.ghettoperson wrote:

EvilMonkeySlayer: I do definitly agree with your point; what I'm trying to stress is for us Linux users setup/game on our *NIX boxes as much as possible. This helps the entire community so we can infact; get linux gaming up to par. A normal user will not be able to do this albeit with enough of us testing/configuring and coding we can definitly make a difference. Don't let me sound like a cocky snob that's not what I'm trying to do here, I just want to stress my personal views about the linux community, Linux users are notorious for taking the hard-route per se, some small bugs/configuration issues are not going to stop the most of us.
lehter: My CPU usage is in fact 2% while running WoW, I have a FX-55 proc, 2gb DDR2 RAM and a 7900GTO, the machine functions superbly a noticeable different from XP > *NIX. My WoW Frame rates vary depending on the server load, normally 50-100 FPS depending on where I am; I read that WoW calculates the Frame-rates very oddly.
With BF2, I can connect to any server I like; I do have to manually update my PB files in order to game online; I have to do this quite frequently which can get annoying but you eventually develop a process. I get 90-100 FPS in BF2; not much of a difference than XP; I did get the same frame rates.

If you are behind a router the vista firewall should be substantial. Other than that I don't know, Vista drivers don't even work I don't see why a free firewall would be available yet.
I completely agree with you about the ATI cards, but don't blame Linux. Blame the device manufacturers but how much have you used Wine/Cedega, did you just look this stuff up? One thing I have noticed about things that are said about wine/cedega is always the same old shit, it's like chain letter that will never end.EvilMonkeySlayer wrote:
Linux simply isn't at the level of Windows for gaming and frankly i'm not sure if it ever will be.
If you're a gamer then Linux isn't a realistic option.
Cedega (based on an old version of the WINE source but heavilly updated to focus on DirectX) and WINE still have loads of work that needs doing.
Plus you will see a big performance hit on games by using WINE/Cedega. Also, if you have an ATI card forget Linux. ATI drivers suck on Linux.
With some careful configuration and time you can get any game to work, I'm even playing BF2 on my clans server right now; I had to manually update PB but hey it's working. The platform is much more stable than windows can even dream of (KERNEL can handle 4 BILLION times more traffic than windows kernel). Stop reading what others have to say, it's funny that my CPU usage is at 2% while I game, any game I played before is officially ported on my Linux box.
I'm an avid gamer I have been for year's Linux is very realistic for all gamers. Linux gaming won't gain any notoriety when people like you with defeatist attitudes and no patients to learn and get things working properly have a say in it.
It's still a paid subscription, just about every game I have working works well under wine (wine is free) there is a slew of documentation out there for each game. If you don't want to pay you can always port with winex directly. A bit more configuration is required and not all games are as supported.Yaocelotl wrote:

Im a RedHat user (on work machines, use XP SP2 for games) and Cedega is the ONLY way you will get any Direct X game running in Linux.
The problem is that Linux doesnt use Direct X (as it is a microsoft thingy bob) combine that with the fact that the Linux X server is an old heap of crud that couldnt render a blank square and you have a problem.
Cedega basically runs Direct X via a type of Wine as Cedega actually started as part of the Wine project. Anyone who has had any experience with Wine will tell you, dont bother. Waste of time. Will cause headaches and vomiting. Stay way.
If you must use Linux dual boot, I am writing this right now in RedHat, I love it, but it serves its purpose, as a secure, solid platform for development and general web use.
Not for gaming. (trust me, I have tried it on and off since 1997, all I have to show for it is tears... mind you Quake 3 works well! )
To me sacrificing some frame-rates and a bit of detail is definitely worth getting rid of the M$ strap. I'm sick of being stuck to proprietary software I don't want to do it anymore.
As a Avid *NIX user/admin for several years now I'm comfortable with the platform, as for a person not-so-familiar with it I wouldn't completely recommend it. The main problems I had was the nVIDEA and ALSA sound studio. Who doesn't have issues with ALSA and x-fi these days?
All-in All I recommend at least trying it, everyone has as small 10 gig hdd lying around don't they, what hurts to swap it out with your current hard drive and giving it a test run?
