What's being a Christian got to do with being against murder? As a Male, I am also against murder.leetkyle wrote:

I like it but, as mentioned above, if your side isn't interested in 'tank teamwork' then you might as well stop playing. You just can't have a good round on this map as a lone wolf (jet pilot excluded). Personally I like to sit back in the refinery as AT and take out the many, many tanks that try to roll on in.
I would hazard a guess that the people who don't like that map are the ones who play a lot of IO.

That was excellent
Not that many. About 60 I think. Its hard to get a lot of points on that map.
It was easy. Get yourself on a 64 player map with 32 people infantry only. Play with M95. Where-ever the main firefight is, sit back behind everyone and just pick people off. You will get a kill or a kill assist on almost every shot. I got mine on my second attempt. I was on karkand but with infantry only, any map would do.
Why on earth would anyone want to buy that?
Only when I die in annoying ways or do something stupid... Examples include:
Being killed more than 3 times in a round by artillery
Being killed by the same person several times on the trot
Killing a sniper then stupidly sprinting to his dead position forgetting about Claymores
Emptying a clip into someones head only for them to turn around and drop you with one shot of their pistol
Being killed whilst surrounded by medics and not being revived.

I got my expert sniper last night and it was my 40th kill exactly when I got the award. I guess it's possible I got some of these jessefer[Killed]SomeDude, but I wouldn't have thought I had 5 of them.
I play sniper a lot so obviously I don't like this idea. Mainly cause its ridiculous but also because without Claymores a sniper would essentially be useless. Claymores are the only way to defend yourself when you're capping flags. Without them you are pretty much standing there with nothing.
Claymores aren't a problem anyway. I rarely get hit with them because its obvious where they are going to be (mainly cause that's where I would put them). If its a choke point then there's going to be a claymore. Just go around, or look first. Easy.

How would you feel about EA granting the ability to every class to don one use 5 second claymore armor? I think it would greatly reduce spamming, as most of the time you know you are probably about to hit a claymore but can't do much about it, but snipers defending themselves with well-placed claymores would still probably be very effective.
Too bad EA will never do it.
110 GB. Haven't listened to it all though.
That is awesome.
I love c&c. still play generals though am dogged by lag when there are two many Gatling cannons firing. Hopefully they have a new graphic engine for this game.
The requirements for this:
* 400h total time played
* Marksman Infantry Medal
* Expert Knife Combat Badge
* Expert Pistol Combat Badge
* Expert Assault Combat Badge
* Expert Anti-tank Combat Badge
* Expert Sniper Combat Badge
* Expert Spec Ops Combat Badge
* Expert Support Combat Badge
* Expert Engineer Combat Badge
* Expert Medic Combat Badge
It says you need a minimum of 400 hours played to get this medal. However to get the other expert requirements you need a minimum 700 hours (100 each for medic, eng, sup, spec, snip and AT). Is there actually a sneaky way to get this medal after 400 hours or is it just an oversight by our beloved BF2 development team?

Yes it is, follow this guide

Don't waste your money on any more ram. Wait for the graphics card.

Maybe I'm thinking of a different one.
In any case for BF2 you won't notice much (if any) difference with between 2GB and 3GB so I'd keep saving for that new graphics card/CPU.
I used to have a lot of problems with it. Not only could I not go onto the construction site but I couldn't even look at it from a distance using the sniper rifle. It was the same with the same building on a few other maps. I have a new graphics card now and it goes ok. Not sure of the FPS change though as I don't know how to measure that.
800 x 600 and it works hard enough at THAT level
I would have thought that the day they put in the next $2000 would be the first day of the second year, not the end of the first. So if you put $2000 in on the first day of the year, the total in the account at the end of that year is $2210. By making it $4210 you are including the next years $2000.
The confusion lies with when the payments are made. If they payments are made at the beginning of the period the value is $25376. If they are made at the end of the period it is $23291.
Use the FV function in Excel to confirm it for yourself.

I got your answer. The book is wrong.
Markley, after 1 year there will be $4210, because the next $2000 goes in on that day. Same with all of them. $25736.80 is the amount before the last $2000 goes in.
But then again I'm probably wrong.
I just worked it out in excel and got the books answer. Not sure of the reasoning. I am guessing there is something slightly wrong with your formula but I couldn't tell you what it is because my maths is arse. Excel is my friend.

I voted yes....
Sounds quite cool. It just sounds like bf2 with more fancy graphics though.
Not me. Been close a few times though. Yesterday I ended a round with 4 and 25. I was gutted.

If they'd stopped at Poland (or concentrated on a smaller part of Russia), Europe could have been a very different place today.

I am having a very similar problem. Since installing the latest patch 1.06 the game just won't start. When I run the application it starts two processes BF2142Launcher.exe and another one which I forget the name of at the moment. They run for a few seconds, it minimizes that b4stard EALink program, the hard drive spins for a couple of seconds then nothing.
If I had bought the game on DVD I would have tried reinstalling but I stupidly downloaded it, then even more stupidly deleted the setup files. I should have got off my lazy arse and gone to a shop. Damn the internet to hell!!

They could have something similar to bf2 but just get the landscape involved. Have the ability to knock down buildings or dig trenches. Bandwidth is almost at a level where it could handle that sort of action.
I'm on NTL 10Mbs for £20 per month. It is an outstanding connection. It never goes down, it is never contended. I don't play on servers over a 40 ping and I have a done of servers to choose. I can download torrents at well over 500kb/s. I even got over 1Mb/s on some of the popular downloads. I have no complaints at all. What I find more annoying is the exceedingly few places you can actually utilise all that bandwidth. So few sites allow you to download at that speed. If I went up to 20Mbs I will still be in the same position.
I got kicked off a server once because of my player name 'malarkeycoon'. Luckily its only happened once otherwise I'd have to change it. God knows who would be offended by it but there are always some.

I stole my mouse from work. It has two buttons and a roller thingy. It is probable this £3 mouse does my gameplay no favours but I can't be arsed getting a proper one.
The future is underwater tidal turbines. Like wind turbines but underwater. Water is approximately 800 times as dense as air so the turbines can be significanly smaller than on land for the same energy output. Plus the tides never stop moving (with the exception of high and low tides obviously) so they can be used much more consistently. Having said this you have to have large tides for it to be effective. The UK is ideally placed with its large tidal movements. I don't know why we don't build any. Cost I guess.
Aim for the tail. If the chopper is moving its hitbox will be centred around the tail. If you aim for the front or middle you miss. It is annoying but you get used to it.
*edit* only aim for the tail if if the chopper is going forward... actually scratch what I said. Just listen to the guy above.

He is obviously not a seasoned puker. Always puke from a hight so you get it all over the bowl and the floor.
Nice work by the way.
Nice work by the way.
Yes I have. But very slowly. The first time I checked my stats was the first time I logged onto this site. I have been trying to recover ever since. I had kd ratio of 0.6 and spm of about 1. Its now only .95 and 1.4. Its hard to improve though when a) I'm not very good and b) I don't really care that much.
I've only got a few as I always end up coming 4th or 5th. If you play on smaller servers you should get plenty.
How do they accumulate those stats? I guess it would be from country census's .I would have thought the "Not Religous" bit would have been higher... but then again I am only basing that off the people that I know, none of which are religous (but maybe they would claim to be under a census?)
He definitely didn't write it...

Its quite easy. You just need one guy to start a squad and hover in the blackhawk about 300m above the island. Squad members can then just spawn on the chopper and keep jumping out until a flag as been taken.... though all this takes teamwork and bf is designed for players to whore points, not work as a team.
Who on earth would buy such a thing? And why?
Well if this is a post for dumb suggestions I might as well have a go:
I would like to have disguises in the game so I could disguise myself as a rock or a wall.

to play games? probably could average 2 if I tried. I think my bf2 average is about 30mins a day but I could do more if I tried.
Yes they will. But the fewer guns there are, the harder it is to get one. In New Zealand (where I come from) there are strict controls on guns. Rifles are relatively easy to come by (with a permit) but hand guns are essentially non-existant. Consequently criminals are forced to use sorn off shot guns. I'm not saying that that is any better than a hand gun but at least its not as 'easy'.krazed wrote:
the unfortunate truth is that criminals will ALWAYS get and have guns...
Hmmmm, let me think.... nope it would be too obvious to blame the number of guns on that. It must be something different.CameronPoe wrote:
Can someone explain why crime, particularly murder and gun crime in general, is generally far far higher in countries where guns are legal than in countries where they aren't?
I love command and conquer generals: zero hour. Its strategy but you don't have to wait hours building up cities and crap (i.e. black and white) before you can go blow some shit up.
