That keyboard looks just like my old Dell keyboard.FFLink wrote:
It's a Google image.pirana6 wrote:
Not that it matters but, I think you've got your up and down arrows switched, no joke. Usually the arrow symbol is on the left side of the key.FFLink wrote:
Cleaned my keyboard...
Half the keys don't work any more... At first it was just shift being held constantly, but then it switched to P, then CTRL, now a specific section of the board.
I'm pretty certain it was dry, but... Fuck. I can't even buy this keyboard any more and it was the best fucking board in the world.
Can't seem to find a new one that I like... Sad times.
This is my replacement:
So fucking leet.
Also, I bought it as a spare from one of those over-priced crappy "tech" shops where you just know they have no idea.
A recent shot of my car. Hoping to whip out my camera and not my shitty camera phone sometime soon and take some real pictures...

It worked fine and it suddenly stopped working, right? If recovering the factory image didn't work, and neither did multiple programs/drivers work, it's hardware related. Don't come asking for help if you don't want to listen.Eifa wrote:
Doubt that it has anything to do with the hardware.alexb wrote:

Am pretty sure it has something to do with the drivers and windows 7 not working together..

It wouldn't. Neat though.
Saw a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX try to race a Ferrari F430 Spider the other night on the highway. Needless to say, the F430 left the Evo in dust in a few seconds and was outside visibility within 20 seconds.

You're running Vista 32bit... time to upgrade to 7 64bit.heggs wrote:
I was hoping some of you could help me out with the optimal settings for my current rig.
Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit
AMD X3 720 at 3 Ghz
4 GB ram
Gigabyte HD 6850
1280 x 1024 resolution
Drivers up to date
I'm running mostly High settings with 30-50 fps, but more lately the frames drop pretty heavily below 30 fps during play. My goal would be to stay smoothly above 30 fps even during intense battles. I have also turned off the one AA setting that heavily impacts AMD cards, can't remember which one it is though (MSAA maybe).
Rather than dropping every setting to medium, which I would definitely rather not do, I was hoping for some information on which particular settings would net me the most fps gain by dropping them to medium.
Any thoughts, musings, or clever anecdotes would be much appreciated. Especially from people with a similar setup.
Does your BIOS allow you to unlock the fourth core? It might be "ACC" in your BIOS. Also, 4GB of RAM should be enough, provided that you're not using more than 2GB of it on idle. Use the other form of AA (can't remember the name of it, its the lower of the two AA options), and turn off SSAO/HBAO.
Is a 7200 RPM drive not sufficient? The one I linked the most recently has one.jsnipy wrote:
point is that perceived power is useless with a crappy disk drive. Kinda like have super huge balls and a tiny penis.
How much processing power do you consume on what processor architecture now (rhetorical)
2 cents ...
Looks nice but I'm looking for more power - I am at my girlfriend's a lot and I was leaning more towards this for the i7 and the GT650m (it has 384 cores), and 2GB RAM.

Actually, found this. Essentially it seems to be the same exact laptop, except it's prebuilt. It comes with exactly the same specs as above, except the 750GB 7200 RPM drive... about to jump the gun...jsnipy wrote:
opt for a smaller, faster drive. 5400rpm makes all the extra memory and processor speed just lol.
If at all possible, get an SSD, even if it less than 200GB.
Comes with free 2 day shipping also.

Looked up the prices and configs for Dell's XPS line... nothing even comparable for the same price.
I had an Alienware (Dell), god it was awful. Sold it, hoping to find something better.FatherTed wrote:

Should I do it?

I got rid of the shitty Alienware m11x... I'm on the market for a new laptop that can do decent gaming...

Just found a nifty app for my iPad/iPhone called Air Video. Allows you to stream media from a local server, and through a VPN I'm assuming.
Costs £1.99 for the full version, although you get a free version with some limitations (not being able to browse fully through the files on your server, etc.) You need the server client as well, but that's free.
Easy as hell to set up, you just need a pin generated by the server client that you pop in to your iOS device and boom, you can access the server.
Video playback is smooth from my experience, and even better than that, any non-supported video formats are converted on the fly to a file that your iOS device can use.
Well worth the money.

Turbo's have spool lag, particularly larger ones... and its an add on to the car - another part to worry about if it breaks down, and when they do they aren't cheap.
Imo I'm thinking it is staged, but you're right either way its pretty awesome.Finray wrote:

Holy shit.
The TL is pretty much the sport luxury version of an Accord, and the TSX is an entry-level luxury model of the Accord, from what I gather - but they are indeed different cars, just modeled off of an Accord.FloppY_ wrote:

That's what it's called in Europe :-P
And according (no pun intended) to WIKI the Euro Honda Accord of that year is called Acura TSX in the US
The Accord from the US isn't available in Europe afaik...

I have a feeling BF3's reqs won't be as high as everyone speculates.
http://bf3blog.com/battlefield-3-system-requirements/
Battlefield 3 is expected to have similar system requirements as the previous Battlefield game, Bad Company 2. Battlefiled 3 is powered by the Frostbite 2.0 engine, which is based on the previous Frostbite 1.5, which powered Bad Company 2.
While the Frostbite 2.0 engine has a lot of new features compared to 1.5, it is also more optimized as well, which will most likely result in similar performance and Battlefield 3 system requirements for the PC. Since Battlefield 3 won’t be supporting DirecX 9, it won’t run on Windows XP.
iOS 5 will be completely PC-less; due to be released in the fall sometime.Dilbert_X wrote:
