Completely unrealistic I know but: I wish the Democrats would try to run a candidate who intended to undo everything Ronald Reagan did in his two terms. The more I read about him, the more I realize what a piece of shit he was.

It tastes significantly better when cold. They were sitting on a shelf unrefrigerated when I bought them from Total Wine, and when I got home I drank one right out of the box and almost immediately lost interest. After letting it sit overnight in the fridge, it was much better the next day.
I don't like the taste of beer at all. The closest I ever usually get to beer is hard cider, usually Bold Rock because I like sweeter drinks. This was mostly just something to try for me, I haven't been much of a drinker at all the past few years.
According to some people on Reddit, the beta version of the new Steam Desktop client is a lot more responsive than the current version of Steam is, on top of all the other new features it's bringing along. I think Valve's experience with the Steam Deck is allowing them to work on making the desktop client feel like a more cohesive experience, and it also looks like they've taken some pages out of the PS5's book with the new individualized Game Overview feature.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

If steam is bought by anyone, please let it be by a company who can fix its slow, clunky interface. Amazon has a slow, clunky interface. Do you look forward to every action in your steam cart taking two minutes to compute?I'm sorry, let me rephrase that. Steam has a slow, clunky interface when it acts up. Amazon has an even slower, clunkier interface when it acts up. Some aspects of both platforms run fine.I've never had issues with it. It doesn't seem any faster or slower than any gateway app? I've used on my PC, on the Steam app on my samsung, and used to use (and still have) a physical Steam Link box. The only issue I had was connecting to steam via the Steam Link, but once I was connected, it was never slow.
For amazon, the cart and the wishlist are horrible to deal with, to say nothing of its aggregation and obfuscation of misleading products (made worse by link recycling). rehash follows: Spoiler (highlight to read):
I also feel like it could have a better catalog and sorting system for all your purchases. Last I checked, they limit the amount of orders you can "archive." Why? If I want to find out if I ordered a book from them with a title I don't quite remember, why do I have to scroll through 50 months of various other sundries? Let me sort by item type? It's not like I checked recently, so maybe they fixed all that. Not holding my breath.
They also removed one of the pickup lockers at a nearby supermarket, and replaced it with an over-the-counter pickup (again, why). No. Thanks. I can drive to a closer drug store if I want to do that. In-store locker still available down the road from that, so whatever. It's not that I'm particularly worried about porch pirates (although there is activity), I just don't want my blu-rays mistakenly delivered to neighbors as sometimes happened. Not really related to how bad the website is, but whatever.
For the steam platform, I have some technical issues with chat, the store can be slow to respond, and managing screenshots is unworkable unless I do so from a web browser. The in-game overlay can sometimes chug a bit (and occasionally crash) as well, even when I have resources available. Overall, feels more feature-creeped and roughly chained together than it does the streamlined and optimized package it should be after nearly 20 years, and with so many games requiring it open to even launch.
As much as I hate to defend EA, Origin just works for me. Granted, it's not as bulked up on features, but I never get stuck in endless preparing to launch loops, or the occasional infinite update when I launch it. Feels more like using a browser than waiting for a dinosaur's brain to communicate with its tail.
I bought a 4-pack of those new pre-mixed Jack & Cokes and it's pretty good. It tastes like it's a little bit heavier on the Coke side of the mixture than something a bartender might actually make, but that's sort of reflected in the relatively low 7% alcohol content. There was already a very similar Jack Daniel's and cola product on the market before with a very similar black can but it was some unnamed brand of soda, this is actually Coca-Cola.

I turned 31 last Wednesday. Way way less depressing than turning 30, I think I’m in a much better head space in general though so that helps.
Bought myself an RTX 4070 with all the birthday cash I got. It’s nice to finally be able to play modern games at 1440p max settings again and still get way higher performance than I was getting. My RTX 2070 was such a disappointment, easily the worst nVidia card I’ve ever bought. The benchmarks were showing literally double the average frame rate between the 2070 and 4070 at 1440p in most games so it seemed like the right time to upgrade. nVidia’s RT hardware is also far enough along now that turning it on doesn’t murder your performance anymore like it did on the first-gen RT cards, which is great.
Stuck in Jury Dury today. At least my work gives me a paid PTO day for it without deducting from my regular allotment. Jury Duty in this county sucks though, they have you on-call the whole week and you don’t know when you have to come in until the day before. You also may even be called back in later that week if you weren’t already assigned to a docket when you came in earlier in the week. In PG County, you just got your day, showed up and then you were good for 3 years after that.
I kind of wish that they wouldn’t have made the Feedback thing such an integral part of Windows outside of people who are in the Windows Insiders program. I guess it’s part of their efforts to slowly “mobile-ize” the experience, by harassing you with review requests in much the same way that mobile apps do.
I've been trying to skip caffeine as much as I can, I had terrible anxiety last summer that I think was exacerbated by my caffeine intake leading up to the summer, and I'm trying not to get it going again now that the warm weather is starting to come back

I ordered one of those Ancestry.com DNA tests. Found a Groupon code that got me $20 off so it was around $88 I think after shipping. I'm curious to see what it comes up with, my uncle on my mom's side had some Iberian in his results, which was unexpected, and I also have a relatively large amount of Eastern European background because of my paternal grandfather's family tree.
I might also order one of higher tiers of 23andMe DNA tests in a month or two. Those ones will tell you about medical conditions you're more susceptible to and whether you're a genetic carrier for certain diseases if you have kids down the road.

My hot black coworker accidentally flashed me in the parking lot today. I think she was just trying to do some kind of tease and then somehow fucked up and did the whole thing. I asked her again to flash me while we were talking about other stuff, and she obliged. Very nice big boobs. Last time I saw naked boobs in person was three years ago, it's been too long.
I've been on weird shifts for 10 years(or a third of my life) now, it was 11PM-7:30 AM(3rd shift) from May 2013 until September 2021, and then 1PM to 9:30 PM(2nd shift) from then on. I had a much better work/life balance on actual night shift, 2nd shift is horrible.
Fuck Daylight Savings Time
As somebody who works 2nd shift and stays up late, it's really depressing to see that extra hour suddenly disappear.
Also I got the PS5 today and after hours of trying out different games and whatnot, I decided to try a 4K Blu-ray disc and realized that the disc drive won't actually read any of my Blu-rays at all. It will accept them into the slot after I eject them the first time, and then they still never start spinning once inside the drive, so now I already have to send it in for a warranty repair. Everything else still works but I didn't pay a hundred extra dollars over the digital version for nothing.

I did end up buying a PS5 directly from Sony, they had an interesting zero interest financing option through a company called Klarna, I checked Reddit and that seemed to be legit. They just split the $500+tax into 4 separate payments every two weeks and then that's it. Now I can finally give my new Bravia something that can utilize it to its full potential.
PS5s are in stock right now directly from Sony and I'm pretty damn tempted. Apparently I could flip my PS4 Pro after that for around $275ish on Facebook Marketplace so that would soften the blow quite a bit too.
I backed a project on Kickstarter for a wallet made from coffee-based leather. I'm due for a new wallet soon anyway so it would be pretty neat if this one was quality.

Brought my XBox One X to the repair shop a week ago, and as it turns out, what I thought was a dead hard drive is actually a failing motherboard. I think I may just sell it as-is for $100 and then save up for a Series X.
The site still tries to hit me with malware from time to time, usually when I'm first loading up from Google or typing in the URL, but occasionally it's even while switching pages here that BitDefender tells me it stopped something from hijacking the browser.

I went to see Jerry Seinfeld's standup in DC last night. Unfortunately that set seemed to be largely catered towards a 50+ audience, lots of jokes about marriage and how things used to be. Mario Joyner was the opener for him though, and he was hilarious.
Reddit is giving out free promotional Superbowl Avatar NFTs right now for whoever is interested in that kind of thing.
I finally got around to replacing the hard drive in my XBox One X with an SSD to fix/upgrade from what I thought was a broken hard drive and it's still doing the same exact thing. I guess I'll have to take it up to the console repair store in Baltimore and pay $60 for them to fix it.
I've been playing the crap out of Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance on my PS4 Pro lately. Lots of nostalgia around that game, I'm glad they brought it back even if it's not the most amazing remaster. Just wish I had somebody to play couch co-op with.

I think that as the world's politicians start to age out, addressing Digital Inheritance may start to become more of a legislative priority. Probably at some point in the next 10-20 years I would guess, although I would also expect corporate influence to totally fuck us all on the issue as much as possible in the US, that doesn't seem likely to change at any point in the foreseeable future.
There is Family Sharing but from looking at the FAQ on that page, there are quite a few restrictive caveats.

I'm hoping Red Alert 2 and Tiberian Sun get remasters at some point. I can't see EA not doing a remaster of RA2 at the very least, it was the high point of Westwood RTS games.

Just little stuff like my dead body getting attached to a nearby friendly tank(making it potentially difficult for revives), but nothing game breaking so far. They've been cleaning this game up for a year already so I think the worst of it is gone. EA seems to be pretty aware of the fact that they dun goofed with this one out of the gate and they're trying to make amends by actually listening to the playerbase for the most part, or at least as far as I can tell.
I played it for a couple hours last night, and this is the most fun I've had in a Battlefield game in a long time. It's got aspects of Apex Legends mixed in where every character has some kind of special ability or two, but you can also pick your weapon/tool set for any individual character, so I like the amount of customizability that there is as far as tailoring your character to your play style.
