I just had my best commander round yesterday (222). My best non-commander round was 187 and most of it was done as infantry (not armor) with well over 50 kills and lots of flag points. That one ruled.

Man that's bad. I had one where a convoy of armor was approaching one of our flags so I jumped into a vodnik and put a bunch of C4 on it and drove off to hopefully blow up at least a tank and an APC. Unfortunately one of my teammates tosses a mine just as I pass him (thanks noob) and my Vodnik goes up with a huge explosion. I really had to restrain myself not to punish him for the tk when it comes up with "you've been punished for a teamkill". Apparently the noob was in my blast zone when he blew up my Vodnik and punished me instead. Doh!-xBluebirdx- wrote:

Spoken like a true tank WHORE!!!! The only person I dislike more than a tank whore is a guy who tank whores and then thinks that whoring gives him ownership rights to the friggin tank. Learn to share and get some infantry skillz or go play The Sims or Windows Solitaire and leave us alone!slimer wrote:
The only reason he was there first is because he sat there and waiting until I died(which was a long wait). And I have no problem using a gun or a vodnik or whatever, its the fact the I give the person using the tank and doing well the respect not to steal the tank hes been using the whole time.
Works for me! I like it.
So I'm not the only one who has seen this? It was really a trip when it happened to me. I was driving the USMC tank up the road towards the Hotel in Karkand. Just as I got past the pipes that are on the right hand side of the road the tank jumped 100 feet in the air. I thought someoone must have placed the mutha of all C4 charges under me, but I didn't die, it was this glitch. Maybe we should call it the B52 Tank Glitch 'cuz I felt like a B52 pilot when that happened lol.JaM3z wrote:
man now that is cool a 100ft in the air tank, i take it its part of the glitch to get insides buildings if not and its just some random spot that isnt a major n00bish glitch tell me where it is lol i wanna fly in a tank
I played Commander for three rounds tonight and on two of the rounds I was disconnected late into the round with my team coasting to a win. The first time I had 75 commander points which after the x2 would have been 150pts. Each time it happens the screen gets choppy then I get a message that says, "There is a problem with your connection". Then it disconnects me from the server. If I can find the server before the round ends I can get back in and reclaim my points but this is frigging ridiculous. A few weeks ago I noticed the same thing and ended up losing 3 gold stars because of disconnects. Anyone experiencing the same problem???
Amazing. It truly is an accomplishment to get the vet explosive badge with the Claymore. Too many newbies stumble over the Claymores and TK so most peeps use the C4 for the explosive badge. What's your secret?Mj.Blindfisch wrote:
Just look at my signature....Veteran Explosive Badge + Good Conduct Medal on Karkand with claymores.
And the amazing coincindence that the 23th claymorekill and the 27th kill for the medal were the same...
Thanks everyone for posting the difference between an assault rifle and a carbine. The F2000 looks pretty cut down also, but it's called an assault gun in BF2 so I think the real life differences are probably small.
As far as the G36E goes, it's accurate but it's lacking in full auto. Full auto is needed for close quarters especially when trying to capture a flag. One thing that I noticed in BF2 is that if you shoot someone around the head (not necessarily a headshot) that often times (not always though!) the motion of the person stutters and they momentarily aren't able to fire back. With full auto mode you can get in enough rounds to kill them without them even firing back. But with burst fire mode the situation can get reversed if you don't kill them with your first burst - it gives them a chance to kill you and keep you from firing the second burst coup de grace. You can see this momentary stutter motion if you watch your victim closely while you're up close (or zoomed).

I just had another favorite BF2 moment today. I was on 64 player Karkand and I saw a bunch of enemy armor traveling towards one of our captured MEC flags. I strapped all of my C4 into a humvee and came in behind them. A tank was leading with an APC behind it and several foot soldiers. I cut off the APC and rammed my humvee into the tank and blew it. I was hoping to take out both the tank and the APC, but only the tank blew so I ran over to a fixed TOW missile that was close by, shot a couple of guys on the way to it and then got off a quick TOW shot on the APC and blew it before it killed me. Then I finished off another foot soldier with my G36C. A tank, an APC and 3 foot soldiers, something like 7 kills plus flag defend pts all in about 10 seconds all by my lonesome with only a humvee and my spec ops kit. I ended up tieing my all-time best on Karkand on that round (187) with 50+ kills.
The thread said "best RIFLES" in the game, I probably should have used the same terminology and said the G36C is still the most accurate rifle (w/ the possible exception of the standard Marine sniper). This is a good question though, what's the difference between an assault rifle and a carbine? Is this simply BF2 terminonlogy based on the equipment in the kit used (assault vs spec ops for example) or is there a real life difference?BiRdMaN829 wrote:
Thats pretty amazing considering it's not an assault rifle.ZZOT wrote:
What no mention of the G36C? This is still the most accurate of all the assault rifles. Yes more accurate than the G36E, F2000, Scar-L and L85A1. I really do like the optical sight on the Scar-L and L85A1 though.

I got a kick out of reading the "Best BF2 moments" thread and then I realized that some of my most memorable BF2 moments were when things didn't go to well. C'mon admit it, you've all had one of those instances where you are thinking that you're going to pwn someone and get bitch slapped instead. Let's hear about it!
I'll start it off:
I was playing Mec on Karkand and our team was on the verge of extinction as we were down to our last flag (the Mec base across the bridge on the 32 player map). I respawned in time to see a whole column of Marine armor advancing down the bridge and Marines running everywhere so I strapped all of my C4 charges to a Vodnik and drove down expecting to at least take out a tank and hopefully more. As I'm charging the tank I'm zig-zagging to try and dodge his fire and just as I closed on him I zigged instead of zagged and my zig took me next to two of my own teammates and our scanner and BOOM!!! The guy in the tank nailed me and the resultant explosion took me and two of my teammates out and destroyed our scanner. I was punished with two teamkills and had team damage to boot. Doh! (But it was such a good plan...... lol.) This probably made the tank drivers day and who knows maybe he'll post it as his "Best BF2 moment"....

Awesome story! What a crackup! 18 C4 kills is nearly a vet demolitions badge by itself.jonnykill wrote:
Strike on Karkand : I'm on the US side ans spawn as a Special forces . I snag a jeep and beg everyone to jump in . No one does so I head for the battle . I make my way up to the suburbs with no problem and cap the flag . I was checking the radar while capping the flag and notcied the biggest mass of red dots I've ever seen in 6 months of playing .It seemed as if they were holding good ground and laying waste to anyone who tried to take it . I jumped out and covered my jeep with satchle charges . I wondered if I can attack these guys from behind . Who attacks from behind ??? So I make my way down to the high rise building , cross the court yard by the tow missle and booked down the street . On my way I ran over 5 guys all snagging supplies from a sup drop in the middle of the street and a few guys laying prone cover firing my guys running down the hill . At full speed I made a quick right turn into the mass of red dots and slammed into one of the ambient burning cars - killing myself and about 18 other enemy troops .The last frame I saw was like 5 medics , 5 support guys and like 6-7 special forces tossing grenades . There were so many kills that there wasn't enough room to display them in the upper " who killed who with what " text . Then someone typed "OMFG !!!!! " . I was laughing so hard I couldn't play for the next 3 minutes . Everyone chimmed in with a " No fucking way ! " - " Bullshit !! " - "kick him " - " WTF !?!?!!?!?! " . You name it they said it hahahhahaha .
I chimmed in with " 23 kills in 5 seconds - OWNED ! "

Thanks to everyone who responded. Yes this does make sense. I had thought about it working that way but I also didn't think that the details of shots fired were in the feed. I'm impressed that this level of detail exists in the game, pretty amazing.
I assumed that the accuracy stat that shows up under "combat profile" is the average of all of the weapons accuracy in the "weapons" section (ie including explosives, zipline, defib, etc.). But when I do the math this doesn't add up. How exactly is this number calculated?
Best moments:
- Sniping everyone in a HMMV on Karkand. This HMMV came driving towards me so I went prone and realized that I had to get the driver through the window w/ my M95 or get run over. I headshot him and the HMMV coasted to a stop and two other guys hopped out. One guy immediately dropped prone and started firing at me and I knew I only had one shot before he killed me (my health was dropping). I landed a second headshot and took him out and the third guy was a medic so he went over and tried to revive the other dude so I headshot him too. Three straight headshots on a moving HMMV. I still get goosebumps thinking about that one.
- Taking out everyone in a Blackhawk with two GL shots through the open hatch. I had just spawned as assault on Mashtuur and heard a Blackhawk hovering above our flag and in the process of cap'ing it. I jumped out from behind a building fired a single round with the GL and saw it arc perfectly into the open hatch of the Blackhawk and take out the gunner. I was able to stand my ground since the gunner was gone and reload and the 2nd shot did exactly the same as the 1st and arc'ed into the open hatch. This time three more guys dropped, one of which must have been the pilot because the helo dropped like a rock and landed in front of me and the engine stopped. I thought everyone was dead so I thought to myself, "cool a free helo!". I ran over and just as I started to jump into it, it took off. Apparently there was a wounded survivor in the bird and he jumped into the pilot seat and limped off before I could finish him off. Still 4 kills and pts for flag defense and a wounded bird sent back to it's base was a great trade for 2 rounds with the GL.
People bitch about the GL but I love getting perfect downrange arcs on someone. Landing GL rounds on moving HMMV's at a distance is also a lot of fun.
