The one thing I don't get about bf2 videos is how these people can edit their videos by adding effects and whatnot, but still leave typos in the text.

You should get that road rage checked out, it's a public road, therefore there will be other people using it, and these people will have different driving habits and idiosyncrasies. Learn to protect yourself and your own car, that's the smart thing to do, retaliating by griefing other drivers will only increase your chance of being involved in an accident.
That's definitely not cheating, but just remember that for the real thing the examiners won't be as predictable.
Has anyone played Medal of Honour Allied Assault and Pacific Assault? How are their stories compared to COD.

Cool, thanks guys for your help.
That is gross.
I think this one is actually quite explicable: when you fall asleep your sensory organs become more sensitive, so whatever you do hear gets amplified. There have been many times where I've woken up to someone coming into my room having heard the door slam even though it was opened gently. It's also that maybe you were dreaming and when you woke up, you just 'heard' the last few moments of your dream.SealXo wrote:

Sorry, I don't know.
OK, I might pick up COD1 and 2 for the PC and play through them, although they had better be more fun than MOH: Pacific Assault which was the least fun I've ever had in a FPS.
But the single player campaign of COD4 was really unique (or maybe that's because I don't play many games). So how are COD1 and 2 better than say MoH? (which I didn't like)
Hey guys, just wondering how good/bad the earlier COD games were. My impression is that COD did not properly position itself as one of the best FPS until COD4, but I'd like to be proven wrong. In particular, how do the older COD games compare with rivals such as MoH or DoD?
Finally, does COD2 exist for the PC? There was one version which only came out on consoles, I'm not so sure which one it was.
Thanks.

I'm not particular knowledgeable regarding British television, but why is it not on BBC1?
I don't think this was supposed to be funny, it is very possible that it's a Chinese language course in a Western country. I've seen/been in many such classes where the questions are in English but you are expected to answer in Chinese.

Yeah, corporate structure wise, GM acts as the parent company, but Holden (and I'm guessing the same for Vauxhall) pretty much act independently. It's definitely not like Toyota which is more centralised.Mekstizzle wrote:
Yeah, alot of GM Marquees started off as independent manufacturers. Same goes for Vauxhall and Opel. It's just that GM bought them so they'd have a local established brand in their respective markets. They may have cars designed and built outside of the US but they've all been under GM for a very long time now so it's not really completely individual to that country. Vauxhall isn't really a British car company and neither Holden to Australia.
But I suppose, it's Australian enough. It's not like there's much else. Same goes for Britain and its car industry.
That's not true, Holden started out as an Australian company and they're not just a rebranding of GM in the Australasia region. The newer Commodores were designed and are manufactured in Australia, so it's more that Chevrolet/Pontiac is a rebranding of Holden cars.Mekstizzle wrote:
It's not really Australian. Holden are just what GM use to sell their cars in Australia
I would estimate that 3 hours of BF2 will cost you around 100 MBs of data (at least this is what I'm getting).
You can't filter by country, but there are two main Australian servers (search for these in the search field):
1. gamearena (this is Bigpond gaming servers)
2. games.on.net (this is internode gaming servers)
Usually some of the clan servers show up too because they put the names gamearena and games.on.net into their own title to attract hits.
If you want to play on a US server, prepare to be kicked alot, your ping will likely be 200+

Yep I updated when it came out. It was working 2 days ago.
Hey guys, am I missing something? I can find 28 BF2 servers, none of them Australian. Was there a new patch or something which I don't know about?
But the gradient of a parabola is a function of x, not a constant number, and (1,1) does not lie on the parabola itself.WldctARCHe wrote:
Okay, i'm not 100% sure on this but I think the correct way to solve this is to determine the normal line (y=6x-1) and the line that is perpendicular to the normal line and passes through the point (1,1) which would be y= (-1/6)x + (7/6). Then your closet point on your original line would be where the perpendicular line and your original line (3x^2-x) intersect, so you just set the two equations equal to each other and solve (i.e. 3x^2-x= (-1/6)x+(7/6))
x= (7/9)
y= (28/27)
Hope this helps
OK, been awhile, but here's my attempt:
y' = 6x - 1
therefore mN = 1/(1-6x)
Let (a,b) be the point nearest to (1,1), hence using the point gradient form:
y - b = (x - a)/(1 - 6a)
Sub in (1,1) and solve for a.
1 - b = (1 - a)/(1 - 6a)
but b = 3a^2 - a
Solve the cubic and you have 3 solutions:
a = 0, (9 + sqrt(369))/36 or (9 - sqrt(369))/36.
To determine which is the closest, I guess you have to sketch it. You'll find that a = (9 + sqrt(369))/36 is the closest. Use b = 3a^2 - a to find b.

QUESTION:
considering the curve y=3x^2 - x. Using the equation for the normal line to a curve, find the coordinates of the closest point on the curve to the point (1,1).
Hint: The line passing through (1,1) and the closest point (x,y) to it on the curve is the normal line through curve at (x,y). Using the equation for the normal line, and the fact that it passes through (1,1), solve for (x,y)
HELPFUL EQUATIONS:
normal line to a curve: mN = - 1/m where mN is the slope of the normal and m is the slope of the curve at the intersection point.
f`(x) = 6x - 1 = m
not sure where to go with this?

Hey guys, I'm not particularly tech savvy and I need a new computer (for work and entertainment). I thought I might try building one this time as it is much cheaper than buying prebuilt machines. Here is a list of what I think are important, can you guys give any suggestions/tips as to how I should do this?
Also, what are some reliable but excellent quality parts for:
Motherboard
CPU
Graphics Card
Hard drive
RAM
Anything else?
Cheers.
