Could these disconnections be the cause of DDOS attacks? If you don't play with a firewall, or a cheap one, it won't tell you that.
I just installed the game and 1.4 also and I have a question for you. Do you have your firewall off or have Zone Alarm? If so, there may be a DDOS attack happening without you knowing it inhibiting your connection. I have Kaparksy (sp) and it catches a DDOS attack when I try to connect to multi player. I have done some searching around on this and it seems Game-spy, etc has had some DDOS attacks that make it impossible to connect. To those with certain firewalls running it will show, others it will not but just not connect.
Of note, I have changed my connection speed to DSL and it still happens.

Im going to party all day Saturday (Yippiiiee!) cuz I have to get up at 6 a.m. for work on Sunday (Booo!)
I'm at work and I have to waste another 2 hours before I can leave and PARTY!
I've thought about that a few times. =><{SoE}>Agamemnar wrote:

Same boat here but I work overnights. I find the OT forum on Gamespot to be somewhat entertaining. Been hanging there instead of the BF2 forums as I havent been playing much lately, etc.
I guess another option for you might be to get on the phone and make some calls. I would but nobody is up when I'm at work. I look forward to bringing my tax forms into work when I get them. I also bring in other stuff from home that I can do here....bills, reading mail, doing small projects, weeding out the photo box, etc. Its a great chance to get paid for doing personal junk that you might not ever get done at home!

I'm listening to the voices in my head. They are not happy with my employer at the moment.
Please make them leave....even booze doesnt help.

That sux...but.. all my job gave me was a 7 day work week starting the 26th, then one day off, then another 9 day stretch. Ya...feel the love. The job market sucks in this state so I guess I'll have to put up with it for now.
This year I'm broke due to my car and bills. The most I'm getting anyone is a scratch ticket.
I'll be glad when its all over and when my boss drives off a cliff.

Congratulations on shaking the Cold Hard Straight Up Gangsta mode. It wears like green gold.
I wasnt sure about having a pet again, but she definately fills the void. She's quite the unit.

When I see an enemy I go prone once and stay there till someone is dead. I dont think that is dolphin diving, is it? It's certainly what I would do in real life...harder to hit and more accurate shooting. The up and down thing, however, is not something I do.
I think the m95 went downhill with the last patch.
I wouldnt think defragging would gain you much space...I thought it just organized it better.
Depends on what you are doing with your system. Are you using something like Media Center to record shows? Are you installing and removing programs or files allot?
Disk clean or System Mechanic, etc would gain you space by removing junk from your system.

They are great. I like the airline steward one too, where the spiked ball hits the passenger in the face. They did a good job on that series - someone there should get a promotion.beeng wrote:

Regardless of the map or the video game, some peoples strategy is to perfect one map and know it inside and out. My SOCOM friend does that and it gets boring to me.
I have never played the Unreal thing - sounds interesting.
As far as mapping/editing, I was under the impression there is an editor. On the site url below there is a forum for "Mapp'n" and "Mods and Editing".

I am not a guru, but a couple of things I noticed:
Computer:
Have a Gig of ram at least.
Get into a PCI graphics card when you upgrade.
Settings:
Turn off the dynamics.
Turn off AA.
That should decrease load times.
Make sure stuff in the background isnt running also by following the directions in the manual.
Hope that helps.

I sorta know what you mean. (It was the same in SOCOM II also)
Short version: Alternate and do what makes you happy.
Long version:
When I join a squad I am usually experimenting to some degree, and commit myself to a kit that isnt allready in the squad and I focus on that role. I have to be in the "mood" for this. I try to hang back somewhat and am prepared to die to accomplish my kit mission. I dont do this my whole game "session", however. It gets old to me. Otherwise its a solo squad and I do whatever, unless a squad likes my gameplay and invites me over.
I guess that it also depends on the dynamics of the particular game/map/round, how well I am doing, how much fun I am having, and what niche I can take advantage of.
Serving suggestion: Try kit missions with big squads on various map sizes and various populations. That can get interesting and rewarding when you find the right mix.
"Warren" in the messed up squad in "When Trumpets Fade". The newbie kicked ass in the end!

i consider it a serious dereliction of duty on the part of all governments to not be pursuing extraplanetary colonization actively.
...and I aint go'n anywhere.
If Im not going to help the squad, I create my own. Makes sense, doesnt it? Sure it does.
Better than not joining one at all, isnt it? Of course it is.

I find re-locating is highly necessary in BF2 due to the UAV/scan feature. Seems like commanders always target the sniper when they have nothing else to do or disclose your position so that others can kill you.
Move frequently.
Didn't read everything but Im sure that stuff will help some people's. Nice post.

I can't personally help you, but you might find more support on the Dell forums, I have found much help there with mine. (dell.com)
It happens when you dont disconnect from a game and it punts you. Just make sure when you leave a game/server you disconnect otherwise it will do it for you and give you that in your stats.
Great post/info. This is a keeper. Thank you!
Alllllrighty then.
Some might consider that heaven. (hehahah)
I need to spend some time with that beer bong too, sounds fun. Thanks for making my time at work go alittle bit faster.... But I wanna go home now!!

One side of the coin: I think the technology of the time creates unique influences, scenarios, and choices that mold the future generation. Consider growing up in earlier times in contrast to today's convieniences and technologies. Big difference in lifestyle.
The other side of the coin: As time goes on the basic foundations of parenting are diluted and thus the lack of discipline and bonding result in a child with no direction, discipline, morals, etc.
Its all screwed up. I wouldnt want a kid these days.
Add this to your list:
1972: Olympic hostages killed in Munich. Not to mention terrorism in other decades and era's.
Just because Mr. Masturbator didn’t respond in force at least he got us out of debt so BushMeister could spend it all (and then some +) for the current situation.
And, just because BushMeister responded in force doesn’t mean he's doing things 'at home' to make anything safer. I think the 911 reports and such indicate we are failing to take care of that, and of course FEMA's Lack of response, etc. Not to mention he has money to rebuild Iraq but doesn’t want to spend it in New Orleans. He might be a bully but he's going down.
Terrorism has been around, in one form or another, since the dawn of man and one man behind a desk will never change that.
Confucius say man who jump off cliff jump to conclusion.

I'm not overly concerned with real life thing, but I have noticed a big change from 1.03 to 1.12 with the M95. I've had some shots that should have taken some people down but they just walk away. Its happening allot lately so I dont think its me or my aim. Its almost like the gun makes the sound but the bullet never leaves the barrel.
Step away from the keyboard...grab a drink and go out on the balcony and smoke something.
When I log on to play I usually try to do the right thing and win, etc...but I'm also trying real hard not to take the game as seriously as others here do. YikEs! I may be selfish on occasion, but I paid for the game and it wont really hurt anyone that bad. I guess I see both sides of the coin.
We need to start a BF2 12 step program.

Sounds like a lovely time. What where you drinking? (Nothing? Then start! lol)
I find it much less stressfull not being concerned about badges and TK deductions, etc. Just go on and have fun and the rest will fall into place. If crap starts hitting the fan Im off to the next server...."Next".
But I know what you mean, every time I try to get serious and get a medal or something I get rammed one way or another.

Try spawning at the boats next time. (?) Sounds like you have some bad luck with vehicles. Just ride a bicycle next time. And fags don't TK, they are too busy fixing their hair. TK'ers are frustrated breeders. 8)NamelessMarine wrote:

Same with tanks.
I got 5 kills and 25 deats because every time I'd exit a tank or vehicle I'd get TKed.
It was my first medal...
Get yourself into a large, busy map and get in the thick of the action - or just trailing it. Regardless of which support class you are, you should find an abundance of points if your not afraid to die doing your job. Capping as much as possible also helps.
In war it means you come home in a body bag, or something simular. Aim your sites alittle higher, soldier.
Seems the few occasions I go into a non-ranked game to relieve the pressure of the ranked thing I do really well. (There are some high rankers in there too.) Then I switch to some slacker ranker room and get my ass handed to me.
I hear ya there....been the bored one many times before.cablecopulate wrote:

Come home drunk and stoned and with a black eye and they might determine that playing the game is better than other things in life.
Although discipline is good. You must have done something naughty. (You commit the "crime" you do the time.) The week will be done before you know it. Hang in there.
