Yes, the populace is still poor but has been growing rapidily over the last 4 years or so. The materialistic age has hit China in a big way, especially its major cities and it won't be long before they become a big polluter. It's bad enough that they burn coal out of fashion due to their huge reserves but now the cars...Oh dear.Miller wrote:

80% of Australias population reside on coastal regions. More than half of that lies on the east coast alone. National highways do exist to service the major towns and cities like Alice Springs for example and transport is undertaken via road trains to smaller outback regions. Everything else is unaceessable by road unless you have a 4WD or aerial service. Not truck friendly in some of the most remote areas. Some driveways are a 6 hour trip, they are so long and then it's another day or two before you get close to a town that has produce but these people represent a minority.S.Lythberg wrote:
yeah, but inland australia is deserted, not a town to be had, nearly all major australian cities are port towns, and i don't even think there are many highways connecting the coasts via the center of the continent.
Same can be said for canada, nearly all of the population is within about 150 miles of the US border.
Everything is so spread out and the popularity of the car just to get a loaf of bread is a journey in itself for country regions. City dwellers have it easier but you can still drive up to 5 km's to get a quick supply of goods in the mid to outer suburbs. The car is used by everyone to do short trips and has become a bit of a habit. Scooters and bicycles are not commonplace and our transport is terribly inferior to say the paris (Metro) or London (Underground) and not enough people use it's service because of it's unreliabilty and expensive running costs. CBD workers will use the transport network predominantly but only because the parking is expensive otherwise they would drive. It's cheaper to drive a car unfortunately and most of our pollution comes from cities and coastal regions.
European cities seem to have a alot more people but live in a tighter enviroment from what I've seen, whereas Australian's have an abundance of space and backyards which mean less people per square km and longer distances to services. This is changing to a more european trend but it will take decades to eventuate due to the geographical layout of most of our cities and towns.
I'm pretty sure banks in Australia work in a similar fashion to the UK. If that's the case, then banks will always favour those with a higher balance. You know how the saying goes, the wealthier you are, the less you have to pay for anything. Banks are a business like any other and they need to make money which is fair enough but like you said, they can really go overboard on the charges and get away with it most of the time.Rubix-Cubes wrote:

A higher balance means more money for the bank to invest meaning higher returns for them. Of course you won't see that intrest accumilate in your pocket unless you invest it yourself but you can pretty much be assured that your general banking will be free but you have to tell them that otherwise it won't happen. Another thing is to communicate with your bank and get to know your bank manager on a semi personal level. You'd be suprised what you can get away with.. Communication is everything. Put yourself in their shoes from a business prospective.
Get your working capital up as that is holding you back. Anyone can do it, it just takes patience and time. I run my business with monies that come in bits and pieces like yourself and might not get paid for anything up to 13 weeks but always have an acceptable working capital to keep me out of trouble and without worryiing how I will pay my next bill when it arrives.
Cash in bank=Free service for general banking. A low or almost zero balance is the norm for most people who live pay to pay these days. Set yourself up with some cashflow or I will put it simply, SAVE. You don't have to be an entrepenuer to have stacks of cash, just better management. A little here and there becomes a whole lot later. Start now!

A car that runs on water was designed over 20 years ago and like above post, probably had been bought out by an oil company. Haven't heard about it since. Water is H2O as we know and it's pretty easy to work out were the explosion comes from... Only emission is water vapour that is totally recycled by mother nature. Interesting with salt water though.
Like any car that either runs on compressed air, batteries, etc... usually requires another power source to charge or pump them up which again uses other enviromentally un-sound processes.

Good post mate, I tend to agree with what your saying but don't have the entire knowledge of the bible like yourself, only the basics but what you say about changes in references as the years have past is something I've heard before with other faiths were it is either purposely taken out of context or scrapped and re-written completely to suit the needs of those who control it.Braddock wrote:
I was raised a Catholic until I rejected all the dogma and presumptions of the church. I used to stand in church and drone mechanically with everyone else and learn my prayers by rote. It wasn't easy openly rejecting the church here in Ireland back when I did but I couldn't continue in blind ignorance.
I now reject all forms of organised religion but believe that this does not mean I am not a spiritual person. I believe we as humans are missing the bigger picture and find it easier to attribute all the amazing things in this life to an identifiable figure of some sort ...a 'God'. This whole universe is alive like a giant organism and we are all part of it, that is what I believe is 'God' and we are all part of it. This theory has similarities with strands of Buddhist thought and other philosophies.
I've read a lot of the Bible and most of it seems to me to have been translated to the point where we will never truly know what was originally meant. A lot of it is also very insulting e.g. "menstruating women should be shunned" etc. and the fact that it is undeniably edited by humans (predominantly male) means its authenticity is questionable at best.
Do you believe your God is full of love for all mankind? Do you believe that this same God would punish a person in eternal damnation or purgatory after having lived a good life and developing their intellect over their whole life and coming to a reasoned decision not to believe in a God?
As far as Jesus existing? Yeah, I believe he existed like any other homo sapien. He has been used mainly as a reference point of belief and it could have been anyone. He just happened to be chosen as that person. Hmmmm.....GOD? I've heard both stories on this figure, myth, etc... Some say Jesus is the son of GOD but other say he IS GOD. Got me stumped as to why 2 stories of the same person are different. Either one is lying or they both are but in the end, there will never be proof, only belief.

I don't know who to believe anymore. There's always suspicion in my mind. They could be correct, they could be wrong, they might have the actual answer but are they telling us the truth or are they telling us what we want to hear. Who the hell knows? The only thing that is certain is your opinion and that's not something to be taken as gospel, not even mine.
Bob Geldof's efforts in Live Aid did about as much as Band Aid will do. Pretty much a short term awareness campaign and a few dollars here and there. Africa were screwed then and still are today and that was 20 years ago when it first started. The little kids that were portrayed back then as helpless are now grown up and having kids of there own which are also in the same predicament as back then. So much for those donations being well spent.
They should have given them condoms, sterilised them or teached them self awareness, instead of making us aware when our efforts eventually go to waste. Same goes for enviromental issues. What will the outlook be in 20 years in regards to our enviroment?

Nuclear power is not clean in every sense. It requires heavy cooling from water sources (Usually a nearby stream or the like). Raises the temp a degree or two and then you have another issue in the ecological system. The wastes are still not recycled except for bombs and there is still a surplus of the shit. Most of it is dumped, god knows where in barrels that will break down within 100 years and cause yet another issue from leaks. Currently Sweden have the best solution to the wastes it extracts by burying it about a kilometer underground and backfilling it with loads of concrete but it still doesn't really solve the issue in a permanant sense, just a little longer.
Nuclear is not clean! It's as dirty as any other fuel source, just at a later stage of it's life cycle. Solar, wind and anything that requires natures efforts to power it are a much better long term solution.
Condoms and sterilization and/or penalties for offenders using a numbers policy on births per couple. China have it. Won't know if it works for at least a generation though. Yeah, it sounds very dictating because it is but it will be guaranteed to work in the long term if anybody is actually serious about recifying our ever growing global population beyond levels that the world can cater for. This would have to be high on the list for sucess but it seems our goverments want more bloody humans that will consume more and more. When does the buck stop?

I think 8 years can be either too long or too short. Really depends on who's in office running the whole show. One point is their too damn old! Why not someone with a little less age be considered. Say around 35 - 45.
I know that it takes years of political history on your resume to make the presidency grade but by the time they get that position of power, they are so corrupted by the system to not really care 100% or just sign on the dotted line when presented changes, laws, etc... by their advisors. Someone younger with a less corrupted, tunnel visioned mind with fresh ideas may be the answer. Maybe even a female. Lets not be sexist here OK. Just because she has a higher pitched voice, a vagina and big tits, doesn't mean she can't run a country.
