Lolol check back for the first time in forever and OH has banned Uzi and Macbeth. Never change.
Holy fuckballs this place is still going.
I love LotR and can put up with bad qualities in games if I like the setting/artstyle whatever but I just could not stand War in the North. It was so bland and dull to play, like the same hit/block/dodge that has been in every action rpg ever made since 20 years ago. I also dont like action rpgs a lot so that could have been a factor.
The game looks far worse in screenshots and videos than it does when you are playing it, I am not sure why. I have been happy enough with the graphics so far and it definitely looks better than WoW, must have been some low quality videos you were watching if you think that.
I dont really think the game will last 7 years or whatever and I dont really care honestly, I'll probably play for a couple of months and then play D3 or whatever is coming out. I am not really sure how you can say its a shit game that no-one should ever play if you can play it for a month or two and get hundreds of hours out of it. They would have been much better off not making it an MMO thats for sure, in that they would avoid all the increased headaches of making raids and shit and also not have to be involved with MMO players who I still think are the worst subset of people who play games by far.

Yeh, any gun that shoots HE primarily. I guess it started from the KV looking ridiculous with the huge turret and short barrel. I like to think it could also have come from higher tier tanks being used with HE rounds because "they do more damage" (people actually do that).
How is that a good comparison? AoC's voice acting dissapeared after level 20 but most people who played the game thought Tortage was pretty good - everything after was when it fell apart.
Any cursory research into this game would let you know that it is voiced the whole way through. And it isnt marketing lies either because there were plenty of people who got characters to 50 in the beta.
Here is how this game works. There are three main things it is made up of - Mass Effect (minus the third person shootery), Star Wars and standard themepark mmo mechanics. If you dislike 1 of those things you will probably be able to grit your teeth past the parts you dont like but I dont see why you would bother, if you dislike 2 of those things then it isnt even worth considering.

If you can see how this game is different despite it having the same underlying mechanics then you are just being wilfully ignorant. If you are going to take the "conversations, personal class stories is irrelevant" approach then congrats on being a robot. These things may not appeal to you but they are what makes the game what it is.
Never buy this game Uzique you would hate the shit out of it and I dont want to hear about it.
"sci fi bollocks" is literally the entire game hth.

Playing an Imperial Agent (Operative) on Veela. Game remains fucking awesome after a week of heavy playing. Agent is a lot of fun because you are condescending as fuck towards any Imperial officers, ensigns etc because you are pretty much space gestapo and they are scared of you. Stabbing Jedi in the back is also a lot of fun.
Except for when you play as Desmond for an extended period of time in Brotherhood and also learn more about his past in Revelations.
July 20 something lol. I was in as soon as the servers came online. They are saying everyone should be in by the 17th.
I would argue that unless someone is a gambler (ie has a mental condition that education will not fix) and still drops hundreds on lotteries they do not know the odds. (edit: this is assuming they cannot afford the hundreds of dollars. If they can then whatever, doesnt matter).Jay wrote:
It's ultimately pointless. People know the odds of winning the lottery and they still drop hundreds of dollars a week. Yeah, it would be nice to teach kids how to balance a checkbook or not get ripped off on a car loan, but I'd rather learn that kind of thing on my own personally, not from someone who probably struggles with it themself.
Legislation doesnt help things like this, only reducing apathy and ignorance - and that starts by encouraging learning at a young age so that people grow up wanting to learn things and not have to be forced to. At least in the system I went through in Australia, the method of teaching was not conducive to encouraging learning. Most people leave school "done" with learning other than what they do at uni for their "career".

Making good games has no correlation with being a good business. Studios that make a lot of money can fail and studios that make a small amount can continue on, way more too it that "lol stalkers a bad game".
Guess what, Ion Storm folded and they made Deus Ex. Must have been a shit game!!!!

You are right about it being a side effect of shitty AAA games Uzi but that doesnt diminish the quality of other lower budget games. As someone who is 100% behind "indie" (for lack of a better word) music artists I find it difficult to understand your hostility towards indie game developers. It isnt giving money for 2D old tech games made by people who could be making current gen style games, its giving money to people who are upcoming/not working for big conglomerates and making games how and what they want them to be and not at the behest of publishers.
The fact is that indepenent studios just cant afford to make games with the same graphics/complexity as AAA titles because it is so prohibitively expensive - that is the main problem with game development currently. That to make one it takes a giant team of animators, voice actors, artists etc. Far beyond the scope of what was needed when games were made in the glory days 10/15 years ago.
An increase in complexity and scope requires more money which only comes from getting support from a publisher who is then going to dictate things about the game to maximise sales - which leads to homogeneity and shittyness for anyone who is actually an enthusiast.

you just dont understand the maturity in MLP
I dont think I am "the market" for a lot of smartphone trends but saying a lack of apps makes a smartphone pointless is a bit disingenuous. A list of things made 10x more convenient by a large touch screen and 3g internet is pretty long and doesnt exlude many basic everday functions. The Metro UI is really, really good and just using the phone to do basic things like browse the internet, call/sms etc is a pleasure.FloppY_ wrote:
Yeah the N9/Lumia800 looks really sweet, It's just I don't want to be an early adopter, because you run the risk of the platform getting ignored and then you have a smartphone which noone makes apps for, which makes it pretty pointless
Both L4D's are wholly average and I dont see how they get so much acclaim. Especially for a developer like Valve, they just do nothing new at all.
welcome to videogames circa 10 years ago
Why the hell would there be a console version of an RTS game. It is like the thing the genre has going for it - it isnt being dumbed down and designed for a 5 button control scheme with no precise input.Naturn wrote:
So no console version? I wonder how this will truly turn out.

maybe they will realise that the recent games are terrible and stay relatively traditional? probably not.

Those things look so much like Banshees lol.
Looking forward to this because Generals 1 was awesome.

I bought it for $7 when it was last on sale and regretted it.mtb0minime wrote:

God damn it
I just have no interest in them at all, I have always found post-game "challenge rooms" or whatever really boring and superfluous and these DLCs are only for that.
If you can put up with a bit of jankiness without acting like it is the end of the world and can embrace silliness then 9+/10. Non co-op I am not sure if it would be as amazing but I am sure it would still be a lot of fun. The difference is that co-op you can laugh at each others ridiculous stunts/characters etc and not just echo chamber your own.
I guarantee there is a whole segment of gamers that would hate the shit out of this game though, it isn't serious and is clearly console oriented. The way it just jumps from ridiculous game/movie cliche to ridiculous game/movie cliche is unmatched though. You know a game is pretty special when it awards you with a pixel tank that shoots blocks after doing a tron-like mission.

I would be fully behind this but people are too dumb/apathetic/"busy" for that.Little BaBy JESUS wrote:

I am convinced you are trolling and am just removing myself from this thread. Claiming the Greens are about being green is on the same level as the marriage pedantry.Dilbert_X wrote:

You cant actually climb in BF3 though, which is the actual interesting part of it. Not just a nicer looking way to jump over obstacles.
If the maps werent all horrible abortions it could have been salvageable but they were. Bugs, gunplay, balance can be tweaked. Having no good maps cant. It sucked because the art design and the tying of the game into a storyline were really good. I still think that kind of movement can work in MP FPS, but it should be more like Mirrors Edge and less "hold x to parkour". Same thing in the new Tribes game, you just hold space to ski around and dont have to have any skill at all to ski better or worse.
Always wondered why the fuck elderscolls.wikia exists when UESP does. Why start a new shitty wiki when one exists specifically for the Elder Scrolls series and has some ridiculously dedicated editors.FatherTed wrote:

Having a huge amount of fun with this game in COOP, pretty impressed with how it continually ups the insanity throughout the game. Not a small feat when the first mission is a bank heist, followed by jumping out of a plane and shooting enemies while skydiving.
So many games in the last month or so.
AssCreed:Revelations
Batman: Arkham City
Skyrim
Battlefield 3
Saints Row 3
SWTOR
Divinity II (when it was $7 or whatever on steam)
Orcs Must Die (when it was on super sale)
Dead Island (when it was on super sale)
Haven't really had any major complaints with any of them so far, so thats a pretty amazing outcome. Then again my expectation going into games these days is rock bottom, so anything that runs without issue and isn't actively masochistic I will probably not have too much of an issue with.

What the fuck does this mean? And what the hell was the "gay marxist" crap on the last page? How are the Greens and the ALP trivial in any way?Dilbert_X wrote:
No-one wins or loses, least of all gays, its wholly pointless to be getting hung up on a single word and demonstrates how trivial the 'Greens' and the ALP are.
The greens are the only unified left voice in Australian politics (with the ALP at least having left faction(s) in their party although far from the majority). If you meant trivial more in a "pedantic over the meaning of marriage" then whatever, you have made it pretty clear you prefer the status quo of discrimination against homosexuals. If it is wholly symbolic or whatever then why not just pass it and be done with it?
obviously anyone who wears glasses is a hipster, you just dont realise because you are one
Nice.Dilbert_X wrote:
because thats how it is.
What even is this?If the Greens want to go harping on and on, as they will, they'll just expose themselves for what they are - gay marxists and not green at all.
Yeh, well perhaps they are just useless then. The logical progression from that is "why the fuck does anyone pay them for advice anymore"
Yes, "marriage" as a word is irrelevant but the fact is that if one section of society can marry and one cant (where marriage is not regarded as a religious thing but a cultural thing) that is unequal/discriminatory whatever. If we were robots no-one would care because civil union = marriage but we aren't so it does matter. Passing a gay marriage bill would also help (even in a tiny way) decrease discrimination against homosexuals by legitimising their orientation, I think that is another important part to it. Like I said, equality.
Anyway, gonna shut up about gay marriage because the bill isnt going to pass as Abbott will never allow a conscience vote and ALP didn't bind on it so there will be plenty of right wing ALPers crossing the floor.
I imagine it is almost impossible for mainstream media to do anything critical on mining companies, those sickening mining ads are a good example of the kind of shit they pull. And doesn't Gina Rhinehart or whatever own channel 10 now? lol@ that.

The cynic in me leads me to think that they are well aware of the things you mention and choose not to act on that publicly until they have to. That is also because it boggles my mind that a company can grow so large/have such an impact without having a clue.
The logical progression is making everything civil union but that is even less possible than passing gay marriage. Marriage became a state institution once it was adopted into law and benefits etc were applied to it. Gay marriage is about nothing more than equality. The marriage/civil union/being a religion thing is a separate debate and one that is not worth having because it goes nowhere.Dilbert_X wrote:
Every religion defines marriage as between man and a woman.
Modern 'marriages' are effectively civil unions regulated by the state, religion has an almost irrelevant role for most people.
They have their civil unions, why the need for a change?
If anything everyone should have a civil union, the religious can go off and be married on top of that if they want.
The status quo is fine, govt time wasted on this issue is a scandal.
The "time wasted" on this is ridiculous, but because it is so cut and dry and there is no non-bigotted opposition to making homosexuals more equal to heterosexuals. I say "time wasted" because at least it wasnt more fucking immigration bullshit, which is starting up again. 230 WHOLE PEOPLE came on boats today and it is apparently a massive problem for our giant empty country.

You need to do 4 or 6 (can't remember) in Markarth, Solitude, Windhelm and Whiterun. They take a really small amount of time if you just make sure you are doing 2 quests in the same city each time (by cancelling/accepting the quests or quickloading so it randoms the right ones). They are also actual thieving in contrast to most of the questline which had just as much combat as the companions one did.Poseidon wrote:

Nightingale is still the best light set though, so it is only worth doing for completions sake.
