That was my first TFT (well the 17" one anyway), set me back about £330, S-PVA goodness, still the best monitor I've owned for colour reproduction, it blurred a little bit though when gaming, so I ditched it for a newer (inferior tbh) TN based monitor.

I don't think that's really the idea, 5k is a good few hundred loans on that scheme though and they all make a difference.ghettoperson wrote:

But whatever, voted.
That's quite modest compared to some of the stuff that's tackled Pike's Peak, looks good though, nice to see Dacia venturing out into some motorsport, it's giving me flashbacks to the Suzuki Escudo from GT3.PrivateVendetta wrote:

Yup me last night, one of the better ones, fills in the gap before Tokyo Drift and even I'm shocked to say it but, The Rock managed to not ruin it all.Backupwayback wrote:

I cant see that being true (other than swapping the side the driver sits on maybe). Personally I'd never considered the possibility of a car being totally redesigned for another country, just seems like a massive waste of time and money.Jay wrote:
Right, but I've heard people state here that BMW and other manufacturers install different interiors into cars they make for the American market.TheEternalPessimist wrote:

Not an American car. I would put up Lexus interiors versus the BMW and Land Rover examples, but they's ain't American.
I'm saddened though about the direction Honda is going though. Starting to use cheaper quality plastic and trim, following what Toyota has been doing in the last few years.
That's sort of the point, it's not 'impressive' as such it's just for one of the more basic cars we have over here it's interior is (I imagine) much better than anything on a comparable American car.Jay wrote:
I don't see anything impressive about that.TheEternalPessimist wrote:
I give you the most average of average cars Europe has to offer, the Vauxhall Astra
Apart from the leather and the TV screen even the most basic models have that interior (my piddly 1.6l rental did anyway ).
I'd be getting Home Premium unless you need any of the extra bits Pro/Ultimate gives you.Vilham wrote:

I had a 1.6l one of those as a rental last year, nice little car, after the crap wagons I'm used to, having cruise control and hill start assist toys to play with was a novelty. Yours got that weird electronic parking brake? I like the idea but dread to think what would happen if the electrics failed lol.DonFck wrote:
It was time to upgrade, the old ones value would've dropped too much in the next year.
Finally I have some pictures of it, got around to taking the thing to the car wash.

Bit outdated there, it's been called "The O2" for about 3 years.

So I made the switch from Opera (because it's a piece of shit) to Chrome (because it's my favourite) and then to Firefox (Because Chrome crashes at least once for every 5 minutes of use (no exageration)) and I'm pretty happy now I've made it all minimalistic.
But I have one issue. All the text seems really... Shitty. See here:

Really subtle, but really annoying. Also, I've just noticed text on this quick-post thing looks really crappy, too.

For the 80% efficiency rating badges they're throwing on everything these days yes it does, that said, I've never known a PSU actually be able to run at it's maximum load for any long period of time either, they just crap out under the strain so you want about a 20% buffer, hence what I said.Finray wrote:
TEP, I thought the 80% efficiency means for a 800W PSU it'd pull 1000W from the plug?
Well you'd want a ~530w PSU to handle a 490w draw anyway as PSUs are generally around 80% efficient. That calculation is still quite incorrect though, I've got a fairly hefty amount of crap in my PC but only one GTX460, I'm still running a 2 year old 535w, it runs ok but, I am right on the limit, I did have a 6th hard drive in recently and it started to fall over from time to timeNeXuS wrote:

You can get 27" IPS screens for a lot less than £1k, this one for example, no excuse for an extra £400 for what is essentially, an Apple logo.Winston_Churchill wrote:

pretty small market (mostly graphic designers and the like) for IPS monitors of that size, making the price ridiculously high. plus the apple tax
Sounds suspiciously like my work keyboard, and I agree, they are a million miles apart from 'gaming' keyboards, typing is much nicer, I type all day every day and never have any comfort issues (I don't think I've found a keyboard that has keys cushioned quite like Cherry's do) but, alas I'm a sucker for shiny things, so I have a Razer keyboard here at homeUzique wrote:
so my no-frills £25 cherry keyboard came today... and it types and feels infinitely better than any 'gaming' keyboard i have ever purchased. it easily beats the fragile-feeling, piece-of-shit saitek cyborg and far outperforms the piss-poor plastic tactile response of the logitech g15. the keys are solid, cushioned, take some effort to push down and give a wonderful response. the keyboard also has all of the media functions and shortcut keys easily mapped to the f1-f12 buttons and an apple-key style shortcut system. no need for a keyboard the size of a fucking desk, no need for some gaudy design with a million LED's lighting up your desk at night. no need to hear the clackety sound of cheap plastic rattling away all night as you game and type to friends. why don't more people just go for this sort of ergonomic, typist-friendly office keyboard? why has everyone been scammed into this marketing-bubble that is 'gaming keyboards'? i can see the performance/functionality difference with gaming-mice, considering they have higher-sensitivity and bonus buttons/scroll functions... but what's the deal with keyboards? i am literally in disbelief at how much more solid the construction and feel is of this keyboard compared to the £100+ 'gaming' keyboards i have wasted money on before.
what a joke!

Hey guys, so I bought this Sony Vaio laptop in late June. It seems to have come with Microsoft Office 2007. Whenever I start up an Office program I would get a window prompting me to enter the product key. I used Powerpoint a few days ago last, and it worked fine as did every other product. There were no limitations. Now I cannot change anything, I can only view files.
I'm assuming this was a limited version of Microsoft Office no? What surprises me is the lack of a "## day trial Microsoft Office '07" in the start menu, so I thought I owned it, guess not right?
Now I need to DL it quickly because I had some Powerpoints to finish for church tomorrow. Darn it, they're gona crucify me for this.
It does always seem to be the elderly or mentally ill that use it, I could never go backFloppY_ wrote:
