I have no problem with both France's getting voted in at the same time. My reason is first off "Big" Bill founded NASCAR....nuf said about that. Bill Jr was the one who got Winston to sponser the Cup series thereby bringing lots of $$ to the sport and TV interest. If it weren't his initiative NASCAR would not be as popular as it is today. I dissagree with your last candidate into the hall. I respect and admire Rick Hendrick and think he is worthy to be there, but not yet. There are too many other people who deserve the honor before him, ie: David Pearson, check out his statsTC.Troy wrote:

Does anyone else have a problem with both of the France gents being on the same first year ballot? I certainly do. I have no problem with both getting in the Hall...but not in the same year.
My votes were:
Dale Earnhardt
Richard Petty
Bill France
Junior Johnson
Rick Hendrick
What say you gents? What were your votes?

It's called the "Twisted Sister" due to the fact that the teams would twist the bodies to gain an aerodynamic advantage. This is one reason why NASCAR has gone to the COT and why they have a common template. Those cars were ugly.Mekstizzle wrote:

Don't you dare say the models of these cars, they're just stickers
Imagine how fucking cool it would be to drive one of these on the road, just change some stuff around to make it street legal:

Hey guys, long time no see. Well the other day while listening to NASCAR radio on Sirius, I heard an interview with a woman who had a couple of websites up devoted to the science of NASCAR. This really intrigued me, so I wrote the web adresses down while and checked them out when I got home. The first one www.science360.gov has some interesting videos devoted to the different topics in NASCAR such balance, weight distribution, horsepower, ect. The videos can be downloaded for free and are quite good. The next site www.stockcarscience.com has all kinds of info on mechanics and science as it relates to NASCAR. I haven't gotten a chance to look at everything there but there is alot. Hope you all like it.
Don't feel bad. I turned on Speed last night to watch Trackside live and was wondering why it wasn't on. The funny part is I have Sirius radio in my truck and I listen to NASCAR radio all day long. They've only mentioned this was an off weekend a billion times lol!TC.Troy wrote:

blistering, skinning and uneven wear...
Goodyear brought a softer compound to Daytona to improove grip. Lets think about that for a sec. Daytona...hot...oily...and Not fully rubbered in...
A soft compound tire wont last a fuel run under those conditions. See the 5, 39 and 88 (at least).
Who makes these decisions? and why do they still have a FUCKING JOB!!!
absolutely inexcusable imo...
shit is fucking ridiculous

Hey I got to talk to Gordons hauler driver to day on the cb, he said it was a hell of party last night. He also said the 48 hauler might not leave So Florida till tommorow. It must've been a great party!
Yeah it's sad, but hey what can you do. The big guy is gone and I wonder what he would've done in this situation. You look at all the success Richard Petty had and now look at Petty Enterprises and where there at with majority ownership belonging to someone else.TC.Troy wrote:

Well Martinsville would be a great place to try this out. Think about it, Charlotte and Atlanta are 2 high speed, high banked tracks where the cars use the banking to help turn. Martinsville on the other hand is very flat but yet still very fast considering how tight the turns are.TC.Troy wrote:
But my question (disbelief actually) still stands. Martinsville?? Wtf?? I mean, at M'ville, you are doing maybe 70mph in the center of the turn. Why not use it somewhere like Charlotte? or Atlanta? Somewhere where the actuall G-forces are sufficient to make something like this worth the risk. I just dont see it being effective at M'ville...not as effective I should say, as somewhere that it really counts.
qoute from nascar.com article-
NASCAR officials found that the sheet metal used to construct the side structures of the car (doors and quarter panels) did not meet minimum thickness requirements. According to the Sprint Cup Series rule book, car bodies must be constructed from 24-gauge (.025-inch thick) sheet steel. Acid dipping or chemical milling to reduce the thickness of the sheet metal is specifically prohibited.
Garage sources told the Sporting News Wire Service that using sheet metal that fell below minimum tolerances could reduce the weight of a car by as much as 50-75 pounds. Conceivably, the lost weight could be re-added to the bottom of the car in the form of lead weights to lower the center of gravity -- something that could enhance the car's ability to turn through the corner.
I give kevin hamlin an A for effort, but it sucks he got caught on a random inspection. It just goes to show if your not cheating, your not trying.

Dales rolling over in his grave.
Didn't MWR get financial support from some European guy? Or did that deal go fall apart? I remember hearing about that at the end of last year. Maybe that's where the deep pockets come from.
Let us Pray......

Thats one less race I'll watch next year. Who wants to see Micheal Waltrip and David Ruetiman in the shootout? Not me, I think between the two of them they have only one top 5 finish. The shootout has always been about the pole winners, and it should. The fans could really care less about the manufactures champions and owners champions, and NASCAR is trying to make them seem more important. The fans care more about the drivers imho.TC.Troy wrote:

I was just playing CA a few minutes ago and terrible lag for the first time. Also I've encountered only 1 haxor so far, he was kiling everyone at the same time with is knife. Good game so far, I like it. BTW my name in game is babykakes.Stingray24 wrote:
Tbh I see very few people complaining of lag since I began playing this. Not everyone snipes ... I take em out with my assault rifle.
I hereby re-name the race to the "Lack of Competition Caution 400 at the Brickyard." I listended to it on the radio yesterday, that was pathetic.
Yeah I listened to it today on Sirius Radio, the Tony Stewart Press Conference. I thought it was funny when Claire B Lang the reporter for XM Sattelite Radio asked her question, thats when Sirius decided to break in and remind everyone what we were listening to. They just stepped all over her so her question could not be heard. The stupid games the media plays with each other.TC.Troy wrote:

Mark Martin to drive the #5 full time next season
http://www.nascar.com/2008/news/headlin … index.html
I was pretty positive he would would be driving next season, but wasn't to sure if he would do it full time. I bet the fact that his son has given up on racing had a lot to do with it.

I drove by the speedway today, there already camping out in the cow pastures.
Yeah I read your post earlier and I thought I don't ever recall ever seeing lights at Loudon. As for Mears being out out of the #5 , it was also reported on Sirius NASCAR chanel this morning that Hendrick also said that Mark Martin is the most likely candidate to step in on a full time basis. Sorry if that was mentioned in the article, but I'm too lazy to click on it now and read it.TC.Troy wrote:

Thought I'd pass it on.
According to the NASCAR schedule...this weekends race will be on Sunday at, or about 12.30...

Who didnt see this comming?
Are you kidding me? Got enough brains? You make it sound like he was promoted from head floor sweeper last week to crew chief. Trust me he doesn't need to go trotting over to the 24 to borrow there setups because I'm sure all the info they have, he has.DSRTurtle wrote:
I hope Tony Eury Jr has enough brains to go to the 24 and ask for their setup to help Jr do better.
Damm ig, nice find, I enjoyed that. On a side note I'm always stuck in my truck on Sunday's in my truck and never get to watch cup races anymore, so I've been listening to them on AM radio. Well this week the local Tampa radio station didn't cover the race so I didn't get to hear it at all. So I fixed the problem by getting a Sirius radio, now I'll be able to listen wherever I am crystal clear.
nappy headed ho, queen sheba, workin on colored people time, Yeah like that shit was gonna happen in such a high profile job like the one she had. I smell extortion.
Gosh I hope they turn the team around. It would be so nice to have someone else competing for wins and championships instead of the usual cast of characters.
I just voted on the NASCAR.com poll about Kyles weekend running all 3 races. It seem most people could give a shit whether he did it or not.
BTW I voted for him to fail.
BTW I voted for him to fail.
TC.Troy, I was just reading your sig just now and can't agree with you more. It just saddens me that Bruton Smith wanted to buy the place so he could move the cup races to his cookie cutter crown jewels.
Well hell, my 12 yr old daughter could run better than JJ Yeley. So yeah in this case the driver was a huge improvement.DSRTurtle wrote:
The way Busch is running it certainly makes it look the driver was/is the biggest difference in the 18 car and not the crew chief.

WTF. 28 sec pit stop for Jr. Thats unacceptable
Me too. I'm ususally passed out in the truck right now sleeping, but my route overloaded to another trailer. In other words I didn't have to stay out 2 days this time, so I got home just before the green flag. I just hope I can stay awake for the end, I've been up since midnight.kylef wrote:

who are you guys voting for for the all-star race. I've been voting for David Ruetiman religiously.
shit
That was shaping up for a nice finish

regardless who wins, Jr and Tony will get out of their cars laughing like two kids at the end.
Look at Morgan Shepard in 9th place, go grandpa.
Carl Edwards looked pissed as he watched the replay. he's probabaly gonna go shoot some roids and start a fight with LePage. :p
