"Joe’s wealth is $100 and he is an expected utility maximizer with a von Neumann-Morgenstern utility function in which v(c)= c^(1/2) . Joe is afraid of oversleeping his economics exam. He figures there is only a 1 in 10 chance that he will, but if he does, it will cost him $100 in fees to the university for taking an exam late. Joe’s neighbor, Mary, never oversleeps. She offers to wake him one hour before the test, but he must pay her for this service. What is the most that Joe would be willing to pay for this wake-up service?"
I can't seem to figure this damn thing out. Maybe it's because I keep wondering what kind of wake up service they are talking about
DAT L85. Great rifle just by itself with a grip and Ironsights. Using the Holosight, laser and Grip for it and it is another beast. ROF on it though is a little low, but I don't give a shit.
Running memtest was the first thing I did. Evrything checks out after a few passes. All hardware seems to be okay as well. Might reformat/fool around with it again once i get out of bed.
Right after the windows 7 splash logo I get a BSOD. Going into safe mode gives me a BSOD as well. Windows Startup repair (lol) tried fixing it for 12 hours to no avail (fixing disc errors).
AGMs are not one hit disables on armored vehicles. Only on ITVs for the most part. They nerfed it from beta. Found rocket pods much better for some reason.
Shit, I've played this game too much. Hit Colonel last week, and unlocked all infantry kits+all Jet unlocks. Jet Guided missiles were great in beta (or so I hear) but they are so shit now. Was disappointed.
Origin/BF3 name is: ColonelKill90 Will join the BF3S platoon
What monster of a machine do you need 1000W for D:
i5 2500k H80 liquid CPU Cooler 16gb Corsair Vengeance P8z68Pro 120GB Force GT Pro RAID 0 either EVGA GTX570/80 SLI (still debating if I want to get the 580, change my mind almost hourly)
its a little overkill but I prefer to have ample power rather than "adequate" power.
That list is Canins... I was saying his was nice and saying i bought the PSU for my build.
I have 2 Asus GTX570 DCII's in SLI and they perform like a dream. Depending on the 570 make/model (MSI TFIII, ASUS DCII or EVGA classified) they can easily surpass stock GTX580 speeds, if you overclock the cards. The VRMs on the cards I just listed are excellent so they can take it like a champ. (When I only had one DCII, I oc'd it to (950/1900/2100 @1.1V) and it made a Factory Overclock EVGA 580 my brother has look like a joke). Now mind you, DCII's in SLI...well you're gonna need a heap of room. If you go classified, no problem at all.
That being said, GTX580s in SLi are on a whole, other level.
The question is: do you want to spend the extra cash?
So bf2s, I need a ballpark figure/best guess of how much my insurance will go up. First ticket, 21 years old, been driving for 2 years. Ma's vehicle (I'm listed as an occasional driver). No accidents, no other tickets. Had my own vehicle when I was in Ontario.
I've been living in Ontario a good year and a bit (was studying at Waterloo University) where U turns at controlled intersections were legal. So naturally if I needed to U -turn and no prohibit sign was there, you're generally golden to do so. Now I'm back home in Alberta where apparently they are not. So I got dinged earlier tonight when I was driving my friend home. He left his keys at our pals place, so I u-turned at a controlled intersection (no prohibit sign), cop saw me and I got ticketed. Shit sucks, and ignorance is no excuse, but I can deal the 115 buck fine and 2 demerits. Just need an idea what I'm looking at for a potential increase in premiums. With RBC, so I believe they can and will raise your premium even for a first offense.
I know that premiums vary from place to place/country to country but if any one can give me an idea for what increase they got after their first offense it would be much appreciated.
Its been 2 years since the KZ2 one so I decided for old times sake I might as well make this one too.
Campaign Beware of Spoilers
Visari is gone, but the war is far from over. Helghast forces have mounted a devastating counter-attack, prompting the ISA evacuation of planet Helghan. As new Helghast battalions appear, armed with more powerful weapons, ISA forces find themselves outmanned, outgunned and surrounded.
SPLITSCREEN CO-OP Join forces with a friend in local co-op and take on massive boss enemies as you fight your way through the Helghast army.
FULL 3D COMPATIBILITY Full 3D compatibility takes immersion to new heights, delivering a "boots-on-the-ground" experience like no other.
PLAYSTATION MOVE READY Experience “hands-on” combat action, battling the Helghast using the PlayStation®Move motion controller the PlayStation®Move Sharp Shooter.
Multiplayer Currently in Open Beta (thats down more often than not) but still great fun. Controls are tighter after the complaints from KZ2 ( I honestly had no problem with them ). Warzone is back along with a new mode called operations. It's essentially an MP match based on attack and defend (sorta like BFBC2 rush mode) with a narrative and cutscenes.
Classes Engineer-Build Turrets and repair shit. Weapons consist of LMGs an SMG, and a Shotgun Pistol Tactician-Spot and mark enemies, call in sentry drones and capture tactical spawn points (TSPs). Description: Once the home of Scolar Visari himself, this upscale district on the banks of the Corinth River is now the site of intense fighting between the Helghast and the ISA. Though largely untouched by the nuclear blast that destroyed much of Pyrrhus city, the partially collapsed highway stands as testament to the intense fighting that has ravaged the area in recent months. W.AS.P. launcher emplacements and capturable Mortar Beacons will help even the odds against the exoskeletons that dominate the highway.
Description: In the ruins of Pyrrhus, nuclear Petrusite flows from the blast crater, twisting itself around the mangled remains of this once bustling city. The ISA have established research stations to analyze the Petrusite, and the Helghast have already started to harvest the Petrusite in order to weaponize it.
Description: After weeks of fighting, ISA and Helghast forces are deadlocked. Recent flooding has forced both sides to take shelter in buildings bordering a major thoroughfare. Pitched battles roll through the tight alleyways and building interiors daily but the long sightlines make crossing the road a dangerous proposition. Who will break the stalemate?
Description: In a last, desperate attempt to escape Helghan, the ISA have launched an assault on the ‘Tharsis’ space elevator. Jetpacks and Minigun emplacements will give an upper hand to anyone that can secure them. Recent fighting has damaged the turbine powering the elevator, causing a malfunction that produces intermittent EMP discharges. A nearby blast crater serves as a valuable source of nuclear Petrusite but the Helghast will not hesitate to sabotage if it means stopping the ISA.
Description: Abandoned for years, the dam facility in the frozen south has recently been occupied by the Helghast who are using it as a forward operating base to co-ordinate their presence in the region. Controlling Mortar Beacons and the numerous Tactical Spawn Areas is key to securing this sprawling facility.
Operations: After having identified this frozen dam as the Helghast base of operations, the ISA have been instructed to secure the docks and then destroy the dam. Sweep through the shorefront facility and bring the dam crumbling to its knees!
As Helghast it’s your job to safeguard the dam facility. The ISA force is on their way here to destroy the dam. Make sure they fail!
Description: Helghan is a planet of extremes and nowhere is that more evident than here, in the frozen wastes. Violent snowstorms are common in the area, which has recently become a flashpoint of fighting between Helghast and ISA forces vying for control of the mining and radar operations in the area.
Operations: Even in these inhospitable conditions, Helghast and ISA forces fight for control of a tanker loaded with valuable cargo. As Helghast, it’s your job to ensure that the ISA do not gain access to and steal the cargo ship. As ISA the objective is simple. Secure the cargo, at all costs.
Description: One of the few remaining active scrap yards in the region, the Sukmere Pit is a vital processing facility. An intricate conveyor system runs throughout the yard, transferring detritus from the southern-most pit to the train station and crusher in the north of the facility. Many a careless worker has died trying to cross the yard when the crusher is active.
Operations: The ISA are attempting to use the facility’s conveyor system to transport a power core to the abandoned MAWLR in the north of the Sukmere Pit. If they succeed they can restore power to the MAWLR and give the Helghast a little taste of their own medicine.
MP08 - KAZNAN JUNGLE
Key Features: Guerrilla Warfare (16 Players)
Description: Amidst the wreckage of a downed ISA Cruiser, the survivors of the failed evacuation of Helghan fight for their lives against a Helghast enemy bent on their annihilation but they are not the only predators in the area; the jungle, the plants and insects that call it home are friend to no-one.
DICE delivers the first teaser trailer, and we reveal a few must-read details about EA's next big shooter.
Here it is – a buzz clip featuring some blurry images of urban warfare, the promise of a fall release date, and a Trent Reznor-style treatment of the classic Battlefield theme song. Most of the hard information is being kept under wraps for the cover story, but here's some declassified intel for you: Several standout features that defined Battlefield 2 return to the fold, including 64-player multiplayer on PC, jets, and the ability to go prone. What other features do you hope to see in Battlefield 3?
Oh look a new exploit has appeared. Thanks 1.05 o/

BF2s GT5 autotrading/Christmas gift/Secret Santa time?
It is damn inconstant at times, and honestly I hate that a lot. Graphics are either very good (like in Madrid, Rome, Monza or London and Premium cars for the most part) or complete crap (Chamonix, rally events in Alaska, Trial Mountain, and Standard cars)
But yet somehow, the more you play, the more you love it. Even when you hate it. Its odd as hell.

My buddy has one, it's pretty fuckin' awesome. The force-feedback is great and the whole system is real good. I'd say it's worth it, pick up the warrantee just in case though, never had a prob with his but it's always good to have a fall back.
We used it for Dirt 2 mainly, you could feel every bump in the steering wheel, definitely worth the buy honestly.
Sounds good Might just pick one up while I'm at work. I can probably get a hefty discount on the wheel lol. (Thats assuming we aren't sold out ) Will it work with Forza 3 as well is a good question though...
Physics seem fantastic. Best driving game I've ever played.
Whilst the single player seems done extremely well, there doesn't seem to be that much of it and almost all of it is pretty easy (I'm only lvl 19 - haven't tried Expert levels yet). The Sebastian Loeb rally stuff is pretty tough though - as is that Top Gear level in the Lotus, that thing is a real handful.
I loved the Sebastian Loeb Rally Challange The all Gold reward car (Citroen C4 WRC) is fucking godly. I had no problem with the first 2 events (didn't even have to restart), but it took me like a few tries to get the Chamonix rally finished. The TG challenges though are a fucking bitch. The Van one was tedious, the Lotus one was insane, and the Schwimmwagen finale was Got all golds Too bad the leveling system pretty much comes to a dead stop once you hit like level 17. Im 19 right now and it is taking fooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrevvvvvvver to level up.
Somebody convince me to by a G27 for this game. Anybody have one?
It is. Just finished it, and holy fuck was it good.
Spoiler (highlight to read): Return of Liara and Stasis , Chasing down a Spectre+epic fight, Storming the Shadow Broker's ship, and finding out the Shadow Broker is a savage alien that would made Grunt feel like a Volus in comparison
Huh, well this is fucking nice. Some of you might remember that horrible break up I had a month or so ago. I got over it. Or so I thought. I found out my best friend went out, made out, and fucked her behind my back while we were dating. MY motherfucking best friend stabbed me in the back so he could get some pussy. Fucking Cunt. He knew I was after her, and she was hands off. I had a wonderful (albeit seriously short) relationship with her until he decided to be a two face prick, and pretty much told her to tell me to fuck off. And that's exactly what happened. She decided to pull the friend card on me to lessen the blow.
This is...I don't know what to call it. I feel completely betrayed. What do I do.
Kasumi DLC was ok. Overlord was pretty damn good. If I were to choose one, go with Overlord. It may not add a new character or new weapon, but the story was well told and is reminiscent of the first game.
Well thats it. I've completely cut her out of my life. And to think she was what I considered to be a keeper.
We met on neutral ground to discuss the situation less than 5 hours ago. It did not end well. She gave me a whole bunch of ridiculous reasons why its better to stay friends regardless of what we did before and I picked them apart. I got sick and tired of her drama and bullshit that I ended whatever we had right then and there. She reduced herself to tears, while I got up, walked to my car, plugged in my Ipod and drove the longest 20 minutes of my life back to my home. Ended up selecting Degausser (Brand New), Spanish Sahara (Foals), Love you for a day, Hate you for a week (The Pigeon Detectives) and finished it off with Don't Look Back In Anger (Oasis). Seemed like a fitting playlist. Got home, went to my fire pit and burned every single photo we ever took together, junked anything that she got me (clothing went into a bag which I'll drop off at the local GoodWill. Someone will get better use out it than I will now) and deleted her off my social networking site. Ended up beating the shit out of my punching bag for a good hour and a half, downing a finger or two of Crown Royal, and had one hell of a long shower.
Wednesday was a day of hell. Hopefully today holds better things for me.
I'll try to find out Bevo, but at this point I want to avoid as much drama as possible and move on. Well I was in Austin 2 weeks ago, my pa and I flew down there cause he had a business meeting. We left after 5 days. BBQ was fucking delicious in Texas. But im back in Canadurr now, but my province is widely regarded as Texas North anyways lol. And New Austin was a reference to RDR
I have been. But seeking to define our relationship ended up with a fucked up situation, where we both had mutual feelings for each other but she wanted to STAY fucking friends. How the flying fuck does she tell me she loves me to death, made out with me on several occasions, did things a normal couple would do...and end up friendzoning?
Well im going to make a move on the girl I've been going out with for a while tomorrow. She's a keeper. Taking her out for some good fun and a nice dinner.
I just got emailed a code by EA for the beta - I probably signed myself up for it 3 months ago and forgot about it or something (didn't preorder) at any rate I'll download it and give it a try and leave some impressions here. That said, it looks absolutely shit.
That's cause it is shit once you play it long enough. Its COD to the fucking letter most of the time. The only thing even remotely worth playing would be the Combat Mission mode and even then, its just fucking Rush Mode from BFBC2.
Woman: "Doctor, I don't know what to do. Every time my husband comes home drunk he beats me”
Doctor: "I have the perfect medicine for that" he said. "When your husband comes home drunk, just take a glass of sweet water and start swishing it around in your mouth. Just swish and swish but don't swallow until he goes to bed and is asleep."
Two weeks later the woman comes back to the doctor looking fresh and reborn.
Woman: "Doctor that was a brilliant idea! Every time my husband came home drunk, I swished with sweet water, swished and swished, and sure enough he didn't touch me!"
Doctor: "You see how much keeping your mouth shut helps?"
Im thinking about pulling the trigger and buying one of 'em. Currently looking for a sporty little 4 door or coupe (not really that picky right now). Heard they were pretty decent, but what are the alternatives? Want to stay away from Audis, Mercs, and BMW (high maintenance costs up the ass. Pa's Merc has so much shit fixed on it that its unbelievable).
TDM is really shit. It's COD re skinned minus the explosives spam.
However the other mode (pseudo rush as I call it) isn't half bad. The Helmand Valley Map is pretty varied in terms of elevation. Defenders have the obvious advantage of the high ground for the first few capture points but there are quite a few flanking routes for attackers. Sniper rifles are not overpowered, and the explosives are balanced but need a bit more splash damage. This mode and the game overall needs a bit of refinement but its enjoyable.
