Anyone know where I can find screenshots of the keyboard and mouse settings for PS3? Something like mouse sensitivity and keyboard bindings.
Thanks

ROFL, who are you talking to? Since last week it look like 2.76 http://www.statpadder.com:8080/bf2calc/ … 1149714660.SargeV1.4 wrote:

Impossible? I think not.
The flaws were and are known many months since September... This has been discussed previously in other forums. It is EA's system that is flawed if you even call it a ranking system...FYI: most if not all BF2 stats sites mirror EA's info at their site (same info at BFHQ). I just produce something more meaningful from EA's info. Statpadder.com is based on bftracks rankings for bf1942. BFT rankings favored vehicles which is why for http://www.statpadder.com uses small arms accounting for 75% of KDR and KPM, while vehicles account for 25% (artillery kills excluded).JeSTeR_Player1 wrote:
Yep, what switchbladezz said.
I talked with the creator of statpadder.com and explained some flaws in his system and said he would change them but has not yet. not that It matters, and I am aware it would be really hard to be make it fair.
If you play nothing but City maps as medic you can get a SPM of 4.0.
If you play nothing but large maps you will get a low FPPM.
If you fly jets alot you get a high KDR.
He used to have it with KDR being the main stat, but people like 'Plane Whore' was holding 1st/2nd/3rd on leaderboard. He put a Vehicle useage element in there, don't know if that did anything though.
...
My KDR every around is somewhere between 3 and 10
My SPM is usually around 2.5 or 3. (Im not that aggressive of a player)
My Win/Loss is about 2.5 or 3.
My FPPM is about .4 to .6. (Depending on the maps played)
I would like to volunteer! Where do I sign up?stryyker wrote:

Ehehe, I just have to nitpick on this one...Maj.Do wrote:
3. it requires less "maintainence" than windows
4. no issues with spyware, adware, trojans, viruses, etc
5. all programs for linux are free.
6. there are lots of programs for linux and they are easy to find and install.
For #3, it's usually the case of less maintenance but you may find yerself having to update a few 'packages' in order to plug a hole.
For #4, I'm pretty sure Linux has its share of virus. It's not very public like Windows... but there are some out there. IMO, those running Linux tend to know what to do and what not to do, given the nature of a POSIX-style OS.
For #5, not all are free. Cedega definitely costs money to get. And CodeWeaver's CrossOver isn't free either. There are limits as to what OSS (Open Source Software) can provide. And some just cannot be done within the confines of an open source licensing system such as GPL, LGPL, BSD, or MIT. Technology patents makes things tricky for the OSS world since some have the rights and others don't.
For #6, for the most common tasks, yes they are easy to find. But for the specifics, maybe not. One of the problem of the OSS world, not Linux in partiuclar, is the fragmentation of softwares that provides certain services to the users. Let's take multimedia as an example. For GNOME, the default player is called Totem. But there ....
I think the ignore function should be reevaluated as a forum feature. Not for a "global forum ingore", but for a specific "thread ingore". So that way, anyone has the option to ignore that player to be ignored in a specific thread (a clickable link under the member name under "E-mail PM").B.Schuss wrote:

A different system isFlecco wrote:
For the record I searched a couple of times before starting this thread.
It seems as though the global ranking system, while a good idea just made BF2 way to competitive, attracted some questionable tactics and the ranked server policy has kind of killed off modding for this game. I was wondering about any ideas for a different or improved system from anybody?
Not sure if it is wise using KDR for kits, this includes kills while using vehicles. I don't think EA/Dice keeps track of SPM while using a kit, weapon, or map. I sincerely doubt they ever will.Flecco wrote:
My idea was that:-
*Ranks should be removed, total global score should be removed.
*SPM, K/D ratio should stay but be kit/vehicle specific. All stats would be recorded for each kit BESIDES total score.... (eg. Total revives and heals would be recorded for medic, but not the points gained during a match for them)
*Badges, Medals and Ribbons should stay. Good fun to get a veteran/expert badge in anything.
the quality of resupply points seem to favor Karkand.Flecco wrote:
*UNLOCKS WOULD HAVE KIT SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
eg.

Second tier unlocks would require different things soo...
PKM requirements = K : D ratio with support small arms above 1 and x amount of resupply points...
MG36 requirements = Accuracy above 15% (personal joke... I'm a crap shot...) and x amount of resupply points IAR...
bf2s is supposidly coming out w/a ranking system sometime soon. Morwynd at gametrack.org might also come out w/something. Hopefully someone comes out w/something before BF2 dies, LOL.Flecco wrote:
I'm sure if anybody wanted I could come up with a whole load of other examples for other kits...
Anyways, post your suggestions and stuff because I'm interested to see what other people think. Anybody out there have any other ideas on where the ranking system could go next?
